I started mining Monero since 3 months ago, I like the project and the whole idea behind it, and how we are able to mine it without asics or a whole farm of video cards.I actually care about the coin, when I try to speculate or store my savings I just go and buy bitcoin and ethereum.
The only thing I'm wondering is what to expect of it in sight of the future, but I believe that is also the case of all the coins out there. Nobody really knows which ones will win or lose, Monero looks perfect on paper but there are also things that look perfect yet the world doesn't always act reasonably towards what's better. Popular stuff isn't always the best, I don't expect people to care about the privacy of their transactions for the same reason nobody seems to care about privacy in computers. Is Monero's future surrounded only by the black market and insecure people buying sex dolls online?

XMR has the lowest inflation of all forget about privacy the game theory is what's truly golden the privacy is a plus.
Both hashing power and daly transactions are increasing fast as fuck , yes xmr has very low ammount of txs but so does dash , ltc , dogecoin, bch and bsv-eth when you remove the contract shit.

What is unique about xmr is that this is happening in the middle of the btc golden bullrun(low inflation and increasing users).

Interesting. Can you elaborate on why is it deflationary, I mean, we all know most cryptos are not inflationary due to the existence of a fixed amount of them, unlike fiat money, but I don't see Monero's way of working to be different. I say this in the sense that people mine it and there is more of it while the market capitalization and demand is what places the price, just like the other coins. Or is there something important that I'm missing?

>> No.17073932

>>17073891
It’s not deflationary. Monero has a tail emission beginning in 2022. Block reward will be fixed at 0.6 xmr until the end of time, meaning a yearly sub 1% inflation.

Currently, monero is the lowest inflation of the top 30 coins and most of its supply had mined. The upward pressure from the increased demand for privacy and the lower block reward will keep monero moving slowly higher over time.

It's different because monero does not has halvings and has infinite inflation.

This may seem retarded but it's supply is decreasing every day and will be very low by 2021 and the infiinite supply will start when inflation is about 0.80% yearly , add randomX to the mix allowing anyone to mine and this thing is going to the moon.

ARPA is a better buy than this, unless you like no staking + 100% gains.

XMR will never be more than a $3B cap at best.
