My wife and I have been married over a year now and I found out she never filed for taxes and its been 2 years since she worked part time at Charlotte Rouse. She only worked 2 days a week sometimes 3 for 4-6 hours at a time.

She also apparently owed a couple years ago for penalty for no insurance. She didn't pay and didn't file which means shw will owe the original amount, interest and penalties if I'm not mistaken.
How fucked am I biz? Or is she not gonna owe that much im fucking shaking omg omg.

There’s no way she made enough to file. I never filed taxes in high school and worked more than that.

she tried to file them but it ended up being to stressful on her, so she stopped

Don't worry. She'll definitely be less stressed when she starts getting those alimony checks .

Seriously though, if this isn't a larp, go talk to a lawyer and get out now.

If she’s working that little then you don’t have to file under a certain tax bracket. Basically if you’re poor as shit you don’t have to file for taxes. Google your state to find out what your yearly income has to be to not file.

Idk about the insurance though.

not having ever filed is better than having always filed and suddenly stopping. I did this for about 12 years and never got audited. Started filing when I started a new job eventually and everything was normal. also Trump got rid of Obamacare there's no more penalty for not having insurance.

I'm gonna have to agree with this guy. I'll give it a pass if your wife is under age 22. But beyond that your woman is a financial retard.

Learn from an old fag anon. It doesn't matter how perfect a woman is, if she is financially retarded DON'T marry her.

I’m an accountant and run my own tax prep firm. Best case scenario you will be paying heavy penalties. The interest alone from something like that can really rack up over the timeframe you provided. I’d suggest taking out a line of credit on your home to finance the interest penalties. First and foremost you want the IRS off your back. Then you can slowly work overtime to pay the bank back for the line of credit. I cant believe your wife put the both of you in such financial jeopardy over something stupid like this. Depending on what state you live you both could potentially be serving time in prison along with the fines, but that is worst case scenario. Guys don’t mess with the IRS, it’s not worth it.

Christ.
What does your tax attorney advise you to do?
You should follow his advice, not complain on /biz/.
If you haven't spoken with a tax attorney yet, then stop stressing and make an appointment.
>im fucking shaking omg omg.
Don't be afraid of what you don't know, talk to an attorney, then you'll know what to do and how much it will cost.
