I'm not going to tell you that the repo operation is a good thing: it isn't. It means that some bank(s) out there are losing money, but not as much as they would be if the repo op wasn't in effect.

It's just that most of the time that people are posting about it, they are 85% of the time using the verb "inject", which is just alarmist headline stuff. Inject inject inject, every time. When I think of inject I think of queens generating larvae, the repo operation isn't like that.

It doesn't have any noticeable effect on inflation. It's really just shifting numbers around in a spreadsheet overnight.

The rate of increase in Coronavirus case numbers in China is declining, not shooting up. Here are the last 4 day over day increases: 57.9%, 32.3%, 29.2%, and 26.8%. If the case number were exploding exponentially, we should see an exponential increase in those case numbers. We don't. Many of these cases are pre-existing cases now being detected until we get past the assumed incubation period (4-14 days per various sources)

Last week they initially claimed they can make kits that can perform hundred of thousands times per day yet we keep hearing stories about there's not enough test kit and then now they claim there are testing capability of a few thousand instead. At least in Hubei I would say they are just using the testing ability as excuse to limit the number of patient that can be admitted into hospital, and then maybe they're extending the excuse to the whole nationa as they find the excuse convenient

I hope that we are in the time period where the infection rate slows down.
of course there are the quarantines and travel restrictions.But more importantly, if the citizens know that there is a new infection spreading, they will be more inclined to wash their hands, wear masks, and be careful about people who sneeze.
So even if the virus is very infectious, people will be much more careful and that should slow things down until it can be contained.

I'm still betting on more panic in the markets Monday morning, but I think that as long as the people in mainland china are more careful about sanitary habits, things should be contained. That is the most important thing now, that the mainland Chinese populace isn't going out in large crowds and sneezing on everyone.

No poker can be fun, but I took all the fun out of it because I was treating it like a job. There are a lot of problems with tripfags, but the biggest one is that it ruins the sense of community and makes people play their their cards closer to their chest because they don't want someone like LCI profiting of their information. At least when two anonymous posters get an argument, it's forgotten about the next day and group unity is maintained. the trick is that you have the fundamental analysis as the foundation (the lawsuit should mean the price goes down because of reasons XYZ), then you should have a technical analysis system that tells you what price is doing, and you'd be looking for short opportunities during however long the fundamental story remains true. understand?

it's not about whether it will go down or not, it's about having a higher likelihood that it will go down rather than up, and then you look to see when the price actually does start to go down. price moves in waves, not a straight line.
