Hey guys so I have a question for those with experience in the job world, I'm about to graduate with an associate's in mechanical engineering and have a interview with a company on Monday to be a entry level tech standard 5 days a week thing $40k a year but my buddies dad offered me a job as a property manager $60k a year. Should I follow through with the engineering job, or take the property manager job?

Also any suggestions for careers with my degree or entry level stuff is appreciated

Fuck your degree. Work your network. Joining a good old boy network is the best thing you can ever do.

Do a decent job for that guy and it can springboard you into the future.

you'd best try to get a job in your field of study first. This allows you to
A: see how robust the job market is for your specialty
B: see if you actually enjoy doing that shit and
C: Legitimize your time spent working on the degree and
D: It looks good to potential employers down the road.

Your dad's buddies job will always be an option. Don't make it your first choice, It'll pull you in a different direction and you haven't even tried out the shit related to your degree which someone payed for and for which you sweated bullets... right?

Depends, do you want to become an engineer some day or is your dream job unclogging toilets?
