>4chan is the crucible and breeding ground for original memes and thought that dissipate into the mainstream parts of the Internet.
>via memetic replication ideas ranging from funny shitposts to cultural observations to call for political actions to shilling for coins enter to all parts of the Internet
>4chan attracts a certain crowd (cynical, intelligent, autistic) => observes normies, able to observe future trends, able to argue with one another to arrive at Truth.
>free speech, no moderators/upvote system allows for bottom-up discussion of ideas and trends, the complex system feeds itself and arrives at decentralized consensus.
>board culture allows for hurtful remarks, players in the ecosystem put down their egos and argue based on shitposting and actual content/debate alone. Funniest content or most replicable content wins.
>high concentration of Intuitives (INTJ/INTP/ENTP/ENTJ) allows for intuitive ideas and big pictures to be discussed.

How does this relate to Chainlink? First recall the idea of "Wisdom of the Crowd."

>Diversity of opinion: Each person should have private information even if it's just an eccentric interpretation of the known facts.
>Independence: People's opinions aren't determined by the opinions of those around them.
>Decentralization: People are able to specialize and draw on local knowledge.
>Aggregation: Some mechanism exists for turning private judgements into a collective decision.
>Trust: Each person trusts the collective group to be fair

All these fits 4chan almost completely, and allows for groupthink and a collective intelligence to arrive at a consensus. Almost as if it is like a collection of nodes that are prioritised to report truth and transmit data, and aggregated results are passed on to the real world.. almost as if we are the oracles itself.

In the words of the other anons before me, 4chan is unironically the modern day Mesopotamia, the cradle of civilization, the peak of free thought.. and it is under threat.

>> No.16965546

It is not under threat. If anything, we somehow survived the great normie waves in the last couple of years, and we're finally left to our own demise.

Believe it or not, we're in a good place right now. But remember: 4chan changes as well, and if you don't like the zoomer cunts that came, you just have to deal with it. They're here to stay, and the best you can do is educate the little cunts and learn from their memes. Together we will weave the next meme into reality.

This is also one of my main concerns about ETH despite it being my biggest HODL. Not enough zesty memes. A lot of the loud followers are pseudo technical intellectuals, and not meme believers, although there are plenty (money skeleton, mEth rope etc.). I just wish there was more, like what LINK had.

This is also unironically why BSV pumped. Meme magic.

In a situation where free speech and an unregulated environment where ideas battle it out in a Darwinian mechanism is favourable to society as a whole, for ideas that are fragile die and contribute to the overall 4chanian ecosystem (antifragile) over time. In other words, constant shitposting, memeposting and pajeets allow for volatility in the 4chan ecosystem and lets us grow in the future. This is how some are able to arrive at legitimate projects while recognizing others as Pajeet Flavour of the Month Shitcoin. The entire problem is that we got too redpilled, every other part of the world recognizes us a threat and are trying to shut us down, first by group humilation (these are a bunch of retarded incel nerds), then by shilling here (which does not work, as you can tell by /pol/ memeing JIDF).
I liken 4chan to be some sort of superorganism, that has individual parts that work independently, and the hivemind somehow works out and the organism grows. The antifragile nature 4chan allows it to evolve and grow continuously. However the amount of threats and the problems that plague the 4chan organism has reached a tipping point.
Let us begin by realizing that other parts of the Internet are already being policed, either by self-censorship systems like Reddit, or astroturfing. 4chan is no exception, and while it is more robust to such threats, it is now vulnerable.... due to algorithms.

The link above shows that there are people that are literally analyzing 4chan as a whole and instituitions/think tanks are literally figuring out ways to counter 4chan. The conclusion of the report states:

>Moreover, using
this dataset in conjunction with data from other social networks
could help researchers understand the similarities and differences of users of different communities. Also, our dataset is
an invaluable resource for training algorithms in natural language processing, modeling of slang words, or detecting hate
speech, fake news dissemination, conspiracy theories, etc. Finally, we hope that the data can be used in qualitative work to
present in-depth case studies of specific narratives, events, or social theories.

>fake news, conspiracy theories, algorithims.

I believe such algorithms are the greatest threat to 4chan thus far...

My autism has noticed that there have been "one post by this ID", AI posting (sometimes recognized as schizo posting), things trying to imitate our speech. And as we feed such learning algorithms more data, they essentially become like us. While normies we are able to fend off, I don't think AI is such a simple problem.

If you have noticed or lurked 4chan long enough, you begin to see repeated posts with the exact same words and the same OP in other boards occasionally. The most obvious one I can find will be on /fit/ (thotposting and a mundane fitness related question OP never seems to reply to) and /pol/ (with demoralization threads that have the same pattern).

> In a press release, OpenAI research scientist Andrej Karpathy said they are “[training] on entire years of conversations of people talking to each other on all of Reddit.”

>> No.16965615

I have likened 4chan as some sort of superorganism or population.

How does such an organism die?
Race mixing (literally). When huge intakes of refugees from other sites congregate they shit up the culture really fast, usually most of them get weeded out but if they come in mass influx some become tripfags or they alter the post ratios so much original posting is gone (see /b/, /pol/). This is actually exacerbated by the algorithms and the fake AI posting I mentioned in the above posts, which I believe both combine to be a big threat.

This is also why I think Chainlink will be the last moon project, because if Chainlink hits the moon and beyond news and movies will be made about us (unironically), and just like how Trump 2016 and pol were connected and refugees dominated the board, so too will biz become a pajeetfest where people seek to get rich quick from the help of the "autistic nerds"
Unfortunately normals will overnumber the true posters. And shitposting etc and memes will no longer drive off such normals due to the mass influx (inevitable due to Chainlink eventually becoming a big meme), biz board culture will die slowly and surely. The decentralized consensus will disappear. The organism will die out.

The fact that our posts are catalogued. Archived. Analyzed by research instituitions and think tanks... there are multiple vectors of attack on the Chans and I do not believe we are as invulnerable or robust as we like to think.

>> No.16965632

The final question is this, how long can we last against an artificial learning mechanism that grows stronger with time and grows stronger from our data that we freely give to them?

if we do not post, there will be little data provided. However this will mean activity in the Internet will eventually go to zero, which is impossible.

if we do post, we are continuously feeding data and allowing them to learn from our typography, our memes, our calling-cards, our "bad words" that act as filter?

How long until bot-posting begins to force out ideas and narratives on its own?

This will be my last post here on this thread. I could be entirely wrong and seeing schizo patterns everywhere, or my assumptions are flat out stupid... but I thought it would be a great starting point to allow anons that are smarter and more capable than me to discuss about such things, and the future of the Chans.

Lastly I would like to say that many of what I have mentioned about 4chan and its idea of a collective hivemind were not my original thought, but rather built upon the shitposts of thousands and thousands of previous posters before me.

Let us hope that we will one day appreciate this unironical zenith of free speech, and that in the future others will recall about this special place as one of the most strange and wonderful part of the Internet.

say nigger enough and the normies either leave or are converted, after bombardment with alleged vitriol they come to have a change of heart after they realize they're unharmed, or they leave because they were conditioned to think nigger is more than just a word and the conditioning is too strong, /pol/ would have survived 2016 if not for the bots, even then according to the picture you're painting /pol/ should be a lot worse, the core ideologies remain and the board still exists, it's just that there is far more bait, demoralization, bot/shitposting, etc. so if their goal was to glass /pol/ they are still an ocean away from that, also consider what happened with tay, the machine learning knife cuts both ways

as for /biz/ after LINK hits triple digits, i think your thesis is correct that it will be destroyed, not because of bots or normies themselves, but overwhelming volume, /biz/ may have excellent content here and there but we're too slow of a board because there aren't that many of us, maybe a few dozen, no matter how much we say nigger we will be drowned out by constant uttering of "MOONSHOT????", and the autists will leave, as they have already begun to do, or at least stop posting, because as far as LINK is concerned all the pieces are in place it's simply a matter of time before our predictions are further vindicated or otherwise, i am of the opinion that we will imminently be vertical, we'll have a few laughs, and then /biz/ will end

This entire idea behind memetics and good ideas/memes originating from 4chan is not because of a high collection of intelligence.

What really makes this place special is that it acts as a particularly harsh environment. Social media with heavier moderation tend to align more with group think mentality, Such as twitter, Facebook and Reddit as posts appease stricter rules which limits free thought and flow of ideas. In the same breath, aforementioned social media sites which have a user profile and a system on likes/upvotes/favorites also restrict ideas as users are less likely to speak freely for fear of off-line stigmatization and in some cases legal prosecution. When considering your public posts are tied to your name and stick around for as long as need be, users and posts rely on the concept of talking about what is already accepted as a group. A system of like/upvotes/favorites etc. also incentivizes users to fall in line with a group think mentality to appease the crowd. Those factors listed above all contribute to an environment of group think.

4chan, being a harsher environment with no user profiles, incentivizes individual thought, and propagation of stronger ideas. Users talk about what they want to talk about, without fear of lingering stigmatization. Posts which are more likely to be seen are those on which the topic is the idea that users are most eager to talk about. It’s a total bare-bones exchange of ideas. A meeting ground to debate where everyone wears a mask.

Think of this community as one giant organism. Think of this organism living in and environment that is harsh. Many great ideas start here because the very nature of this universe dictates that it must. Once you start looking at the concept of memetics as such, trends no longer are that confusing, and you can begin to predict its behavior much like a living organism.

I have used this as a financial tool since my early 20s, and will continue doing so until my death.

Also a reminder to everyone in this thread stating that “link will be /biz/‘s last hoorah before it’s flooded”. The exact sentiment was said about Ethereum in 2015-2016. A large majority of you who post regularly most likely came here during 2017-2018.

It’s quite hilarious because the one outlier I notice about this site is that it has no memory. One could assume it’s because there’s no history to point to, no accounts to tie posts to, only Warsou which is not intuitive in the slightest.

There is no “death” to speak of. In terms of semantics, maybe a death of an old culture and a rebirth of a new one. A more colloquial term would be a change, a shift, or an evolution, so to speak.

I don’t think you are quite understanding the concept. AB ideas could not have propagated on other websites. His ideas could (and did) only propagate here.

AB did not birth anything. It was already birthed before he arrived. EVEN IF he did, it would still fall in line with the theory. Do you think he honestly props up all LINK threads himself? Our consciousness can shape the future. Science presently doesn't seem to have a lot of answers for the how or why, but being here through it all has made me very well convinced of this.

So when I saw link 1keoy getting sick digits on a consistent basis, it helped me to decide to go all in. And what do you know, it paid off big time

If I have one regret in life is abandoning the chans for a few years in favor of reddit. I initially discovered it in late 2006 and most of my lurking was in /b/ followed by a bit of /w/ and /wg/. I'm sure many of you know but /b/ was different back then, I know /b/ was never good but it's where most of us started.

I didn't even know what reddit was until about late 2010 when I started watching professional SC2 matches and I'm not sure if it was the commentators or the video comments but that's where I first found reddit, through the /r/starcraft sub. It didn't take long for me to spread and discover the rest of the website and conclude it was a better source of information because of the availability (no auto-deletion) and ability to search and of course the upvote system. It fooled me because to this very day it's still useful for niche communities that have nowhere to go. Little did I know how cancerous it truly was and how little original thought was allowed to exist. I only starting noticing after I couldn't have conversations or hold opinions of my own in any sub without being absolutely buried in downvotes without one single intelligent comment in return to contradict me.

The first time I visited the chans again it felt as if I just took my first breath of fresh air in a decade. It didn't take long to start feeling ashamed and for the regret to set in. What the fuck have I done in those 5 years I've been away? Somehow it didn't even hit me we had a /v/ that I could read the starcraft generals of, or a /tv/ I could discuss the ending of breaking bad with, or a /g/ that would keep up to date with anything tech related and potentially even convince me to hop into BTC early. Been back since 2016 and I'm never leaving again, I may have missed BTC and ETH but I've been holding LINK since september 2017, I am with you marines. I hope you all make it, may kek be with you.

There is nothing to worry about. This website has always been filled with shills/bots and they always stuck out to all oldfags as glowniggers. The key to /biz/ and 4chan in general is intellectual integrity. False narratives do not make any sence and thus start to glow. /biz/ is the very best place to spot them because you can usually see within a few months if a coin turns out to be a scam or not.

/biz/ is also a harsh enviroment for normies/moonboys. If they lack integrity they will not be able to know if the fud/hype is real or fake. They will thus leave this place or trust random pajeets and invest in some current shitcoin. Sadly we therefore need pajeets to keep this board clean.

AB appears only prophetic in hindsight. Only retards (nobody said moonboys back then) were dumb enough to trust some random tripfag on an algerian butt shaving forum. Most big stacks (including my own) were bought before AB made his first post.

For whoever thinks this board is not infiltrated by reinforcement learning algorithms, you are wrong. I wrote several of them and got paid hansomely. First I could not figure out what my 'employer', would do with them. Maybe promote his bussiness, or a shitcoin...? Make sense no... Man I fucking wish it was that. What they are actually doing is so fucking dark. It took me months to discover and even more months to process the thought that I helped them create this. I have a lot of trouble sleeping knowing I am complicit in this.

Lets take an example:

Biz hates XRP, but loves LINK.

Why would biz hate corporate bank coin backed by governments?

Why would biz love 2-men russian startup-company?

/biz/ hates XRP because believe it or not, not everybody is a total newfag and if you have enough time in market, like 7-8 years, you would know that XRP has always been considered a total joke - from inception.
I have absolutely no idea how there is a non-zero amount of XRP shills, or where they came from, but it's totally insane. XRP and Ripple are not the same thing. XRP will be jettisoned at the first sign of annoyance. It was used to generate paypigs to fund their actual cash flow generating business, which has nothing to do with XRP.

AI is just statistics applied over an astronomical amount of iterations. It has its limits in terms of imitating humans.

You should be more concerned with AI that links your personal info to your 4chan posts. That could be used to destroy individuals.

But beware people who tell you not to post on here, they’re just trying to interrupt discussion
