try CBD oil + vitamin d tablets for a bit and see if you can get yourself on your feet enough to not need SSRI's
The idea is to build momentum then build coping mechanisms that last you for life
LIke it or not, normies just have better habits than us + no real trauma (yet)
We got JUSTed earlier than most is all

I quit drinking smoking weed and taking drugs. I did an intensive 28 days in a rehab mental health facility and started on a super low dose of Lexapro. 5mg and I have never been happy or more productive also my dick works great and doc gave me a full bill of health. It won't work unless you address the trauma as well tho. Just taking meds without therapy is just covering over the shit that got u here in the first place. Did the work and consider the meds but like other posters have mentioned it's worth trying the alternative options first. Excercise clean eating etc ... But u gotta address the trauma. I went to Sierra Tuscon. It was hard but worth it. And the girls there are all desperate to suck someone's dick. Literally every dude there got a little rehab wifey.

I grew my own high CBD plants. rarely smoke but anytime I do I end up cleaning the house. It's highly motivating.
On the flip side, St. John's wort makes me feel subjectively better and puts me in a better mood.
I take vitamin d but the subjective effects, if any are hard to nail down. I don't feel anything when I take it.

I always mean to stop smoking or drinking and be more productive but then I start waging again and when I get home I am so beaten down, mentally tired, and bored that I smoke or drink and play video games to dull the boredom. I am 28. How do I break these habits? How do I stop being so bored but also cultivate the motivation to read, work on schoolwork, complete more work, etc.? I feel great in the moment because of all the dopamine but always feel guilty the next day but then repeat.

Some things to take care of before offing yourself or going for the big phatla lobotomy:
-Have you stopped masturbating completely? If not, get to it. This is the number one leading cause of depression today for men.
-Are you lifting weights/doing calisthenics? More muscles means more testosterone. T is vital for mental health and exercising is a proven cure for depression.
-Did you try psylocybin mushrooms yet? Will reset your brain completely, but only take them while you are outside, in nature. They don't work correctly in a prison settling (or 'city' as you may know it).
-Get sun light onto your skin every day. Tanning generates vit D. Again, vital for mental health.
Good luck anon. I've just given you a battle plan, don't waste this chance!

there are times when we are just meant to be depressed. some people are meant to spend a lot more of their life in this state than others. sure there is a reason, but it's often too hard to find, and often you really shouldn't bother. just live out your feelings and learn to follow them even when they're negative, not just when they're stimulating. don't be afraid of collapsing, being empty or whatever. just let it devour you and then eventually it'll be over.

all these drugs are based on junk science. they say they correct the "chemical imbalance" in your brain. well, how do they measure your chemical imbalance? they don't. a shrink just tells you you have one. lol. imagine a doctor prescribing any sort of medicine without first running blood test, x-rays, CAT scans, etc. that's what this is and it's disgusting that (((they))) get away with it.

Some people claim they work. Some people claim they don't. Some people have a chemical imbalance. Some people need therapy. Some people just need fresh air, sunshine, and to eat a bit healthier and get more sleep. Everybody is different. I'm not a fan of antidepressants. They fucked me up in a bad way. I'd rather be depressed and deal with it on my own than to take pills again.

I took Lexapro for anxiety, not depression. For that purpose it worked AMAZINGLY well; it absolutely obliterated my anxiety and it was really neat to finally experience life with zero social anxiety. I always afraid to talk to girls, but on Lexapro I literally gave no fucks and could flirt with girls at the bar with absolutely no fear of rejection. And it worked, I got numbers like crazy..

..except the Lexapro also made me not give a fuck about actually pursuing a relationship, so I never pursued them.

After a few months I decided to quit the SSRI because I felt like I didn't need it anymore, and although my anxiety returned it's something I'm able to live with. But if shit ever gets bad enough, it's comforting knowing that SSRIs are an option, cause it does make things a lot easier for me.

They work well for some people.

I'm one of the ones they work great for initially then fail hard within weeks.

Each individual person is affected differently by each drug. There is no test to determine if one will work for you, nor which one will work best.

Zoloft or Lexapro would be your best initial attempts.

DO NOT EVER use Effexor/venlafaxine. It has a tendency to cause permanent negative changes. LOTS of guys report a permanent total loss of sex drive after using it.

Avoid Paxil/paroxetine until after you've tried others. It has a tendency to trigger suicide.

Wellbutrin is a dopamine reuptake inhibitor. It works for people for whom SSRIs have no effect. Likewise, SSRIs will work for people on whom Wellbutrin has no effect. Totally different mechanisms.

You might also consider psilocybin therapy. One three-to-four-gram dose of shrooms, stay someplace comfy in a safe environment with soft music and some nice visuals. It may or may not help. If it does, you will likely need to repeat it only about once every three months. It's not legal in a lot of places, unfortunately.

Good luck.

They can be. Not saying that the "lol just have willpower meme is right, but there are ways around it. Gotta start building good habits when you feel less suicidal than usual and leverage them when shit gets worse. It may take years, but you could gradually start viewing yourself as a person instead of a pathetic waste of space.

I took SSRIs once upon a time and they are absolutely horrible. You know you should have negative feelings but instead just feel void which was unnatural and worse than depression for me.

The real red pill here is that exercise has been shown to be more effective than psychiatric medication without any of the shitty side effects. Start exercising regularly, if you still feel fucked off after doing this for a couple months then go talk to the psychiatrist about getting on antidepressants, but don't run straight out of the gate for the pills.

try emeramide bro, it will literally save your life. search for irminix/emeramide/osr group on facebook. people are healing their depression like nothing there. emeramide detoxes mercury and other extreme neurotoxins (no. 1 cause for depression, anxiety, apathy etc.) like nothing else available on this earth. i'm currently on it and healing from several chronic conditions that i treated unsuccessfully with many different approaches before for many years.

Alternatively, this. Exercise can replace meds as long as you're diligent and do it basically every day (running for 20-30 mins should be enough on days off of weights)
