*ahem*
SOXL is the answer. Face it. Semiconductors are crack in all but name. The desire for newer, faster, more is insatiable. Computers, GPUs, self-driving electric cars, AI enhanced smartphones, medical devices, microcontrollers, networkinging gear, machine learning, surveillance, infrastructure, military, the list is endless. No matter how many cores, how fast or efficient, demand requires bigger, faster, cheaper, better. The clamor for fresh silicon gives nary shit for national identity, creed, hue, gender, asshole virginity or other vain conceit; the multitude speaks in singular. The plea: semiconductor.
SOXL couples a single ETF entry point with the the best companies the space has to offer then pushes these already stellar returns to the limit with 3x leverage. With SOXL, your economic interests are aligned with powerhouses Nvidia, Qualcomm, Intel, Broadcom, Micron, Texas Instruments, Applied Materials, et al. Real tech companies with innovative products people want, not """tech""" """companies""" pushing shitty ads. And like all leveraged ETFs, SOXL is rebalanced daily, deftly mitigating margin risks.
In the last 7 years, SOXL has exploded over 42x yet still we are early. Semiconductor growth will proceed exponentially until every viable space is saturated with it. This is a fait accompli; the sheer number of interested parties and obviously compelling outcomes make it so. The injection of increasingly compact and efficient sensors, microcontrollers, information processing and storage into everywhere and everything will be this era's seminal revolution, a revolution with SOXL holders planted firmly at the receiving end.
Stop waiting for the "pullback". Where we're going, fretting over a few dollars is meaningless. The deliberation is over; waiting is a failure mode. Now. Buy it now.

Hell, even GM bought a Korean car company a long ass time ago just to get brand recognition with Buick in China. Ford is at least 10 years behind though. I feel you. This is a plausible scenario:

> GILEAD announces AMRN buyout for $40 a share

> hehe Oppenheimer Stifel and frenz downgrade stock to sell, because it’s “technically sold”, why would you buy, fdurrrr? It’s not like those analysts have average returns of -3% in a stubbornly broad bull market. ALSO, they up price target to $30 on the downgrade, because who fuckin cares about reason

> hehe stock drops 25% to $15, random articles come out saying “This is why Amarin dropped on good news...”

> I deposit more money into my account and buy cheap calls, hoping the market will realize it has an offer for $40.

> More witty articles from desperate online newspapers come out with a version of this headline: “Why something is FISHY (heh) about this FISH OIL PHARMACEUTICAL’S BUYOUT DEAL!”

> Stock drops another 20%

> I give up and sit on my hands. I wat Simply Cheetos because (maybe) it’s slightly healthier for me, and heat up a Ball Park turkey hot dog with low sodium ketchup because (maybe) that’s healthier too. I get angry, turn on some mature cartoon like Family Guy to help laugh off my frustrations and also find comfort in the bright colors and smooth animation that brings me memories from a simpler, innocent time when I was a child, without being totally immature as the jokes are raunchy.

I start with a firm belief that in the long term the market will go up and in the medium/short term there will be tradeable volatility. Then I look at what tickers are the least likely to ever go to zero which leaves the indexes like SPY, QQQ, etc. Then, realizing the indexes move too slowly, I look at leveraged ETFs with with indexes as the underlying so SPXL, TQQQ, etc. Upon realizing the dangers of margin I consider that leveraged ETFs are daily rebalanced and the market has circuit breakers that make is unlikely in the extreme extreme a leveraged index fund will drop enough to liquidate in a single day. It's essentially never gonna happen. Then I look at the leveraged index and sector based ETFs and see which ones has the most plausible narrative for going up the most in the shortest amount of time. This leaves the tech ETFs like TQQQ, TECL, and SOXL. Of these SOXL is the top dog so that's where my money goes. I keep enough SOXL in my account to beat the S&P 500 index soundly, this means always maintaining at least 1/5 of the account invested. With the remaining 4/5, I strive to destroy the S&P through trading the volatility. So I trade around the core position with a mean reversion strat.
So far this has been very effective

You keed but this is a legit possibility
It's been going up since 2009 and yes it will continue
Central Bank of Japan printed 150% of GDP in the last 10 years,
Japan government debt close to 300% yet they are still close to zero inflation and they say they have a lot room to ease
Switzerland printed 100%+ of their GDP in the last 10 years, imposed negative rates of -0.8% and their currency just got stronger
What makes anybone believe that the Fed which prints US$ - the world reserve currency cannot get to those numbers?
Current balance sheet is just 25% of GDP but because the US$ is a reserve currency they can probably sustain 100% of the world GDP which I believe is around 80 trln
Yes it seems crazy but get back 10 years ago and think about what we have now - it seemed totally crazy that central bank will monetize federal debt
So in our lifetime this charade can easily be sustained
They will just print 1 trln per year maybe increasing this number 10% per year. It will get stocks 10-20% per year growth on average indefinitely

You would have said the same thing when the price target was $195 in June. You do realize that most analysts are incorrect more often than they are correct, right? They're expected to do whatever is in the interest of the company they work for, regardless of what they actually think, hence why Adam Jonas made the case for $10 per share last year despite that being absurdly stupid. If they can't beat the market, they're not worth listening to.

no, they were tightening that entire time in 2017-2018, doing QT. The fed hasn't directly bought treasuries off the market for 5 years technically, and if you count repo that happened after they started dropping massive amounts of Treasury sales into the market and yield had already smoothed out.

20 year treasuries have historically 2-3% more yield, because they are so long dated you have no clue what inflation or the economy in general will look like at that time period, or if you will even be payed out. That is a risk premium, when the yield curve is inverted that means investors are pricing out all risk in those long dated treasuries, they are so sure rates will be lower in 20 years they would rather have those treasuries now then buy shorter ones and wait for risk to be priced in. If the yield curve becomes steeper to match the average historic risk premium for 20 year bonds, then the value of those 20 year bonds will drop and investors will lose money on them.

Hmm, that's a tough one. I don't have any experience with call debit spreads because I don't think they have a high probability of success.
What I can tell you is that as NVDA gets closer to earnings, the implied volatility is going to keep climbing higher, but since you're only 3 weeks out, time decay is going to start ramping up heavily, especially when you get about a week away..since your calls expire a few weeks before earnings, you might not get full advantage of the ramping IV.
I don't feel comfortable giving advice on a options technique I don't really use. But for options spreads, the target is typically 50% profit then get out. If you feel comfortable holding on until then, do it. Otherwise, there's nothing wrong with taking profit now.

Unless you mixed up your sell and buy strikes when you posted them earlier, what you did was a debit spread, or not getting an outright credit for entering into the trade. Selling the lower call strike and buying the higher call strike creates a bull call spread, which is a debit on entry.
