In this thread we will once and for all, beyond a shadow of a doubt, make it all in determine if reading /biz/lit/ does actually make any meaningful, direct, unquestionable positive effect on your income or net-worth.
Whether you're a sucker for if you're batty for Bogle, Gaga for Graham, a Sucker for Kiyosaki, explain in no uncertain terms what you learned and did because of that book that you couldn't/wouldn't have done otherwise.
yes, all roads lead to Rome, but why do you know your favorite /biz/ book took you down the road of financial success faster than if you had of figured it out yourself?
If you think it's all horseshit - explain why - and don't be afraid of sharing your own wisdom along the way.
Hopefully we can at least get down a criteria of what is "probably a good book" as opposed to some scam/lit/
Let's do it!

Making money requires a mindset. Credentials are overrated. Incorporate your business.

You can make a lot of money in a down market, because its a down market, if you prepare the right way.

>Rip-Off!
Most consultants exist to take away your money. If you rely on consultants for core functions or decisions you are a bad boss. It's sometimes okay to hire a consultant for a clearly defined problem.

There are probably other books that I'm probably forgetting. Business writing if often poor quality, but if they have knowledge, quantify it, and provide some actionable advice that's a good start. If they just want you to invest in their business it's usually shit.

This paper warrants an honorable mention.

I haven't heard of the last three, so that's interesting. Who wrote 'principles of influence'? Seems all like basic albeit solid advice.

Applied any of it yet?

Cialdini wrote the Principles of Influence.

Ah wait, yes I know that one.
Cialdini crams a lot of research into his books, he's to persuasion what Kahneman is to cognitive biases. Both compliment each other well.
