16828018 No.16828018 [Reply] [Original]

>Be me, a 27-year-old guy 4 months away from graduating from medical school w/ ~$200,000 debt
>Will be making ~$60,000 for the next 4 years as a resident and then $350,000/year thereafter (starting at age 31)
>Wife makes ~$50,000/year as an occupational therapist
>No kids yet
>We have ~$4000 cash in the bank, ~$2000 of silver, and ~4 BTC of crypto

Is it possible to retire in my late 30's if I keep aggressively accumulating crypto, sell the next market cycle top, and then go all in stonks once the S&P bottoms out after the incoming recession?

Literally nothing wrong with selling your wife's nudes and panties. We live in the age of the Internet. One person I follow on Twitch literally makes $15,000 - $20,000 a month at age 21 or 22 or something. It can be proven by anyone with a calculator based on his subscriptions and low-estimate of donations. That's what around $250,000 a year or so? Anyway, if you think selling nudes online is degenerate then you're just an insecure fucking retard.

The figures are known. Resident salaries are paid by the US federal government and are pretty standard across the country at ~$60,000.

And though I don't know WHERE I will match, I know what specialty it will be. All of my interviews were in the same specialty, which makes an average of >$400,000/year. I actually gave a more conservative estimate of $350,000.

OP here. One of the residents in my intended specialty who is about to graduate from my home institution's residency program just accepted a job with a starting salary of >$600,000/year in Idaho. People make insane BANK coming right out residency in my specialty if they are willing to relocate to undesirable locations and work longer hours than average for the field, which I certainly am. to answer your question, yes it is possible to retire but you wont ever do it, at least not until you are at a normal retirement age because things will happen in life, you will have children, pay morgage pay your debt pay car loans, everything in your life you will have to pay for all the while working insane amounts to support your family, what happens if you get sick what happens if you go through a divorce? you are atleast 5 years away from being able to START paying off your debt at which point you will probably have already started having kids, this means bigger house and bigger morgage

>>We have ~$4000 cash in the bank, ~$2000 of silver, and ~4 BTC of crypto

im guessing these are all your funds because women dont collect silver or crypto so what you are saying is what 'you' have in the bank rn not what 'we' have and this amount is not enough to /makeit/ unless you start seriously adding to it which you wont be able to achieve for at least a few years. im talking about building towards something the boomer dave ramsey way where you sit at the table with your wife and write up all your finances and realistically & truthfully talk about how much income you want to save pw, the goals for your retirement are, how much of a morgage you want to have, if you are setting a goal for yourself that you want to retire in your late thiries (which is totally achievable) then you need to have a complete plan for those ten years that your wife understands so you both are on the exact same page about what each of you are supposed to be doing.

>I am pouring as much of my wife's paychecks into ETH as I can every week, but I can afford 2-3 ETH per week only.

once you plan it all out you will feel better and when it is all organised you might even be able to add more than this on a consistent basis, if you cant though, dont feel like you are failing because remember you have a long term plan that involves building wealth the boomer way regardless if stocks or crypto fail because you dont know when that is going to occur and it is useless relying on, the best thing you can do is just focus on urself and ur own plan atm and then when an opportunity presents itself down the road you will have the income and support to invest in it. one thing for sure is that there will always be another opportunity so dont fret about missing the boat on one particular thing because there is always something new right around the corner
