ITT: nulinker spoonfeeding nulinkers

i was kind of bored and decided to give this a try. you might remember those "spoonfeeding nulinkers threads". this is like those threads, only with a nulinker op. so, ask any chainlink related questions.

let's see how far we get before OP gets asked a question he can't answer and abandons thread, shall we?

Each data request requires a payment in link
Current use cases would immediately overwhelm the 1mm txn per day capacity of eth
How will link ever survive??????

my guess would be that staking will be out at some point in 2020, or at no later than 2021. the service agreements task on pivotaltracker is done, but still has iceboxed tasks. i would guess that threshold signatures and mixicles will come out before staking on mainnet desu.
tldr: no one knows for sure, we can only really guess.

threshold signatures, eth 2.0

Even when it's production ready, it doesn't make sense until the kyc options have proven themselves reliable and secure and there are a lot of high value contracts going live on mainnet.

I think we need more network adoption - ie paying live no shit customers - before staking makes a ton of sense

>no full mainnet before network adoption
i fully agree. i probably should've added that in my last reply actually. of course, these will be released on the testnet first, and will release on mainnet after it's audited and works as it should. sergey take the wheel. if this project fails, crypto fails, i rope. oh fuck we really are a suicide cult, aren't we? :D

I’m literally shaking right now. I can’t believe this happened to me!!
>finally get my dad to take me to McDonald’s
>mcchicken is amazing obviously
>after the meal we're on our way out and I see him
>sergey is on his way to his limo
>go up and ask for his autograph
>"Is that all you want, kid?"
>my jaw drops and so does his plaid shirt
>I immediately dive between his folds and catch Big Mac sauce in my mouth, swallowing it quickly but not too quickly to savor the flavor
>half an hour passes and my stomach is about to burst
>at this point I'm actually starting to feel the singularity myself
>Sergey puts on his checkered blouse, winks at me, gets in his limo and leaves
>turns out my dad was watching the whole time
>says he wants to eat Sergeys secret sauce next time too

Christ almighty, what a night! And I'm still full!

Fine, I'll give you noobs the biggest breadcrumb there is pertaining to $LINK.

Okay here we go... Link is a premined shittoken that runs ontop of a premined shitcoin that doesn't scale or have a supply cap.

Use this info wisely. Almost nobody knows realizes this. Consider yourselves in the know now.

I have some questions. But I'm not so sure I understand wat the meaning for "spoonfeeding" is. (is this autocorrect or typo or something?)

I have 70 Chainlink I bought a few days after it was listed on Coinbase. I think the price was about $3.5 i think. I still have them on Coinbase. Is this a bad idea or not? I have read that it's not bad because they are trusted. I can also buy a Ledger Nano S or Trezor Model T from Amazon. I read those are safe. Are they the safest way to store coins? If not then what is safest?

On the official Chainlink subreddit and other crypto subs I got some of the basic things down. I read that here and Twitter are the main places they talk about Chainlink. Which one is better and why?

I will probably buy atleast 30 more Chainlink to get to 100. Is now a good time to buy or not? Should I buy or wait?

How long do i need to hold my coins to get something nice? How high is the possibility that this goes up like BitCoin did like to $20,000? Or atleast to $100?

Thanks alot!

Spoonfeeding is getting answers for questions you can easily research on your own.

And remember, not your keys, not your crypto. You don't own your private keys to your wallet on exchanges, ergo they're not your assets. They are the exchanges' own.

>the meaning for "spoonfeeding"
kek
>I have 70 Chainlink I bought a few days after it was listed on Coinbase.
you experienced the "coinbase effect" first hand. :D
>I think the price was about $3.5 i think.
you nearly bought the top, dca down (inb4 "whats dca?")
>I still have them on Coinbase. Is this a bad idea or not? I have read that it's not bad because they are trusted.
not your keys, not your crypto!! never hold your crypto investments on an exchange, many have learned the hard way.
>I can also buy a Ledger Nano S or Trezor Model T
i wouldn't recommend it if you have under $500 in crypto in total. some say $1000, some say even more and some say to never get one.
>from Amazon.
literally fucking why? if you buy a hardware wallet, buy it from their official page!! not amazon, their official page!
>[I read] those are safe.
i see a pattern here.. :o
>Are they the safest way to store coins?
hardware wallets are not the most safe way to store your cryptocurrency, but they are definitely among the safest. the safest way would be to get an airgapped laptop, on which you generate (or pick it by hand) the mnemonic phrase.
>If not then what is safest?
the safest way to store your cryptocurrencies would be using an airgapped laptop, on which you generate (or pick it by hand) the mnemonic phrase. this phrase should be written on a piece of paper and/or memorized. a 25th passphrase (25th word) is also recommended for more security.

>On the official Chainlink subreddit and other crypto subs I got some of the basic things down. I read that here and Twitter are the main places they talk about Chainlink. Which one is better and why?
both can be kind of good, but i would still argue that here is (was) better. i prefer the anonymity, i think the conversation is better that way. but if you prefer twitter, chainlinkgod is worth reading. i don't think i have an answer for you other than, whichever you prefer.
>I will probably buy atleast 30 more Chainlink to get to 100.
i think this is a good idea, but i recommend a suicide stack (1000 link). that would be a millionth of the total supply, sort of like what 21 btc is.
>Is now a good time to buy or not? Should I buy or wait?
you should think about whether or not you should buy yourself, not blindly follow what someone tells you. i would say buy, you can always dca later.
>How long do i need to hold my coins to get something nice?
depends on what "something nice" means. with 100 link i would imagine something like: gaming pc ($800 or so) 1.X year, a car ($35000 or something) 4-7 years, a house ($150000) 8-14 years, living off staking dividends (~+$1000000 total + ??% annually) 15-30+ years
>How high is the possibility that this goes up like BitCoin did like to $20,000?
btc went from from like literally nothing to ~$20k. link ico price was a little under $0.11, so no we likely won't be seeing any price increase literally like btc's. autism aside, $20000 chainlink? i mean, i don't think that it's impossible. if the tech is mass adopted and link truly is what we think it is, yes i think it's possible. call me a delusional schitzo cultist all you want, i don't care.
>Or atleast to $100?
$100 link within the next 2-4 years
