where you found that? my understanding is that claiming always requires you to send bitcoin to an address you can't retrieve it from. miners don't pay fees for it if they choose to claim that's all.

>> No.16789216

miner can put to coinbase an output of 0 BTC with haircomb claiming address on it
it will effectively issue new coin without a burn because it's the first qualifying output in the block according to haircomb rules

It's not about the coinburn at all. If users could make 0BTC P2WSH outputs like they can create op returns then they could claim just for fees.

The whole point of claiming it is an open auction. The miner mines a block, miner does not know what comb is, miner decides to not keep it, and the comb goes to the first claimer (usually the highest fee bidder) .

look at what the modified bitcoin core is doing, it's open source.

it's simply sending all P2WSH from the block to the haircomb core disregarding any burn amounts.

546 satoshi to the mining address is needed to be able to later send this comb. Just unseen p2wsh has the potential to be awarded the comb, but still need it to be specifically the mining address generated from the wallet in order to later send this comb from one to another.

As far as miners not including other ppls fees and instead including their own transaction. Thats the same as them paying the fee to themselves.

Asfar as skippjng the 546 satoshi burn, i dont think that will work because most btc clients verify the transactions to be valid, and the dust requirement is a minimum of 546 satoshi.
I doubt they will risk their block not being valid in somebodies client for a mere 546 satoshi.

Interesting points though! All worth questioning them on the main thread for dev to reply.

I dont think dev frequents here.
Also dev gave their proton email in the thread, feel free to email them.

but it would take time for someone to make a clone and this is already out now and being claimed each block?
if there are high fees then it will cost more to claim

>> No.16790846

>>16790044
right, but once ppl see that miners are sidemining this, meaning they are including their own transaction to be the first unseen p2wsh, they can even put it as the first tx where the block subsidy is.

then ppl will stop attempting to claim since there is no use, since the miners are already including their own comb claims, and since only 1 comb claim per block. its useless for ppl to claim.

in the future the miners will claim. its just a matter of time. it literally cost them nothing. unless they see more gain from the fees of others claiming. but eventually the price of comb rises and they just sidemine it by including their own unseen p2wsh into each block.

yes no need to clone as the distribution of this is one of the fairest ive ever seen in any crypto. its very slow and very long. currently about 1.59 comb per claim and very very slowly that diminishes over time. comb will be inflationary for hundreds of years to reach the max cap of 12mil or so. that means you can get in anytime and still be able to claim pretty much almost as much as anyone did long before.

no reason to clone, first mover advantage will always be best.

and this

>Loss of funds due to a confirmed doublespend - due to changing your mind about the destinations while a transaction was ongoing.
>Unlike in Bitcoin, you cannot change your mind if the 21 addresses do not confirm on the blockchain. You need to retry paying again later to the same 21 addresses with higher fee. If you modify the transaction you get different 21 addresses, never show these to anyone and never pay to them. The point of no return is revealing the first 21 addresses made from a key to the public.
