Hi. I've been trading for almost five years now and like to share the bottom wrung of my trading edge. Before any of you brainlets say "ooooh but how can you do this full time if you give away your edge."

I only give away the basics of the edge and my strategy is very computationally intensive with a high burden of knowledge to be useful. A vast majority of you won't put that time in and that's why I'm comfortable doing it.
Read this, for the general understanding of what I'm doing.

https://www.tradingview.com/chart/BTCUSD/6SIl2X3f-The-Holy-Grail-of-Trading-Advanced-Volatility-Theory/

Then watch this hour long lesson on the absolute basics of volatility theory. Yes, the hair style and mustache were ironic so I could cosplay as a hipster Chad. It's a joke, treat it as such.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJUo858bEQE&t

Then read Macro to Micro by Mark Whistler.

You’ll notice my charts are not TradingView this time. This is because my developer recently finished porting our indicators to MultiCharts .NET, a desktop client made by the parent company of TradingView which is a lot more powerful and runs all our stuff faster and with better resolution. We then pulled the entire 1m histories of Binance + BitMEX data and formatted it to play nice with MultiCharts .NET’s ASCII Mapping tools via API script. We'll actually let you download that for free. It's several gigs, since it's every single one minute candle on Binance and Bitmex turned into data plots. If you're interested in trying the indicators I'm using as well, you can use them for free for two weeks.

Bearish weighting on CCI with high potential energy inside of a compression range.

Sideways with a downward slope is what I'd predict, with price not likely to move outside the top or bottom green band edges. When it does, trend. Long on bottom edge. Sell when it's below. Buy if above top edge.

Dag is cool, but there's a longer term compressionary period beginning and short term trend is active. There's a load of wicks to the upside though, but that isn't something I'd recommend betting on. The active trend is down.

I can accurately define whether or not price action is in a state of trend or compression on any timeframe.

If there is trend, I use tools for trend trending.

If there is compression, I use tools for range trading.

I can define ranges by assigning potential energy to a metric, and can assign probability to whether trend is exhausted or viable.

I recommend watching the hour long video on the top post.

Mm, there's still that green compression range around current price. sideways is still a good bet for now since we've had these toppling mean reversions one after another. A bullish break would get me to bet on trend, there's macro level exhuastion for the bearish trend but there's high potential energy here on the shorter timeframes like the daily and below. If we break the local high and compression range, I'll attempt to grab the swing low. until then I'm range trading.

my analysis here is that it does not seem like this is viable for trading. maybe investing but this is far too complex and unnecessary for someone who wants to trade the daily before close and check on his trades the next day before close. also this method you did not do any forward testing which you could have emulated using the rewind button on tradingview making me believe that your bollinger bands strategy only works in hindsight

trading is all about risk management, take profit, and stop loss which you ignored and instead went into other things like the physics of the markets which is useless info. as I am typing this I can see its theory in the title so maybe this is good for people who want the science of markets but for trades not very helpful

I do appreciate the feedback, mate. I totally agree with you that those are things I did not take the time to go into on this video, as it wasn't the intent of the video. I intended to outline the theory from which the tools are developed without going into the application of the tools themselves. Without an understanding of the fundamental paradigms that drive the tools' efficacy, then using the tools won't be possible. The video is intended to be a filter; if this overarching concept is appealing to you, then these are the resources to learn how to use the risk management, take profit targets, and entries. Mark Whistler's Macro to Micro would be the next step. I respect that the base concept felt too complex to justify the effort to go deeper, which is exactly why I'm comfortable sharing the information. Pool becomes much easier to play if you understand the properties of the surface, the weight of the balls, the angles of the pockets. It's a dedication that certainly isn't for everyone! I do wish you luck on whatever path you take with your trading.

There's the green compression range, which is defined by a concept known as volatility overhead. It creates a range based on which periods are improbable to see continued expansion by using the longest period that still has potential energy as a barrier.

Great stuff for lower timeframe scalping. Define compression and the exact swing highs and lows of that compression.

Take the sats anyone says and divide it by 100,000,000. Why, because that’s how many sats make up a bitcoin.

Take that post:
23628 / 100,000,000

Take that answer and multiply it by the dollar amount of bitcoin and then you get the sats to USD conversion.

Reverse for dollars to sats

Take the amount of chain link usd divided by the amount of BTC usd and then multiply it by 100,000,000

I haven't really clicked on any of the links yet, might do that later when I'm at my computer and not phone posting, but just skimming through the posts, this reminds me of one trader who used to stream on Twitch under the "crypto" category.

His strategy was basically trading breakouts from when the boilinger bands had compressed to almost flat, and he had several indicators to tell which way it would break out, and his success rate was very high.
If anyone here even knows what/who I am talking about.
