I think someone last week mentioned Degiro, IB is another possibility
There were at least two or three posts in the past 5 days of people talking about UK brokers and giving recommendations... but the Warosu archive search isn't working for me.
If you want to brute force it, just look through the last 5-10 threads (clicking the prev thread link in the OP posts) and search the threads with your browser for "brit" or "UK" or "broker" strings, and you should be able to find the posts. should only take a few minutes

Maybe one of our rare brit posters might show up and answer your question

They are due to get phase 3 under way in Q1 2020. The share price will likely go up. The only thing holding it down from a rational market value is the need to raise more money to finish the trials.

I only have about $650 in it, am up about 20%. the rest of my stack is in AMRN, which is sitting at breakeven for me.

really torn on what to do with SAVAgains. Think i am going to sell pretty quickly tomorrow morning depending how premarket looks, and then wait and see from there.

Unique take on alzheimers. Small molecule, safe, shows unprecedented efficacy so far. Also in line with recent papers telling a pathogen is the cause and amyloid beta is in fact the good guy forced to do bad stuff. Nih funded trial, lot's of insider buys. All this under 100 mil market cap. Check their presentations and papers. Also check crtx. They will inhibit the pathogen, while sava will do the cleanup. These 2 conbined is pretty much a cure imo. Crtx is too pricey to buy, maybe it will be good to play around the news.

Take it literally. Consists of small number of atoms. On the other hand, there are proteins, antibodies which consist of 10-100k atoms. They are harder to control, harder to manufacture, could have more unforeseen side effects in general. Also they don't reach their target as effectively, especially in the brain. A couple of antibodies failed in alzheimers because of this, and recently aducanumab only showed some marginal effect on the highest dose. In general i consider small molecules more preferable

of course not. that amounts to 8k a year, and if we compound 4x a year at 7% interest (assuming divvy payouts or index funds), you can have $542k in 25 years.

If you are satisfied with NEETdom and a minimal life of vidya, shitposting, reading, and staying /fit/, a 5% withdrawal rate gives you yearly income of $27k. If you buy a cheap house out in the country, drive used cars, and homestead a little, that is plenty comfortable to live on (for me at least).

if you wait until 30 years. you can have $800k and a yearly income of ~40k. This is assuming boring bogleheads-type investing, not going for gung-ho /biz/ plays. Sometimes good shit gets posted here too, so that's not an entirely dumb strategy.

Either way, good luck friend. Build the life you want and then build the wealth to live it without wage slavery.

also take some profits

sell at least half before there is a correction

I sold half on Friday and will sell the other half tomorrow. Then I will wait a few days for a dip to bottom out. Once I see that the dip is swallowing out I will buy.

Dont be surprised if you see a drop of 8% or more during the dip.

Profit will be taken by investors in SAVA, probably tomorrow. You might see a bump in the morning that tempts you to hold. Then without warning people just start selling at some point during the day taking their profits from the run up. If you are not careful to sell early, you could be left a bag holder and down 5 to 10 percent on your investment.

In micro small and midcap biotech stocks, don't get greedy. Be happy with your 150% increase. Sell SAVA, take your profits, and reinvest in it after a dip. People who wait to sell after a good run usually end up screwed.

I think you’re referring to the Qs, ticker QQQ. That’s the standard, and last I checked it was the etf with the most volume and assets under management. It’s the most liquid, and probably the best for trading with options.

If all you’re concerned about is minimizing fees, there might be better options. I heard sofi released some no-fee ones, and someone has negative fees? Like they’ll pay you to manage your money?

I’m partial to Schwab’s ETFs, I can be pretty sure they’ll be managed well and aren’t going to have to close, and they trade for very very low fees. SCHK is their top 1000 etf, so it’s more diversified than the Nasdaq 100. Maybe you don’t like that though.

Draft Kings announced that they'll be going public through a reverse merger sometime next year. They have a SPAC shell company that's already on the NYSE as $DEAC, which jumped 20% last week on the news. Since this won't be going the traditional IPO route, it seems like there won't be much visibility into Draft Kings' books until much later. By going SPAC specifically, it feels like less of a liquidity crisis and more of a cash-out for founders/investors/etc.

Any thoughts on how I should approach research on this? My gut says that it's a good growth buy, but it's hard to determine a good valuation without the oversight that an IPO provides.

AMRN - go it alone or a buyout either way the good times are still flowing strong in 2020. When your raking in Profit out the ass why would you think the stock price would suffer? More likely the price will keep climbing as 2020 moves along. For ten years the drug is AMRN's alone. So Profit is a slam dunk for ten years. Reminder: When Big Pharma comes knocking the Green Bags start Flying.. Marketcaps mean shit if Big Pharma wants the company bad enough. What the CEO personally wants doesn't mean shit either. Long as the Board has the majority votes and shareholders give it the thumbs up then Big Pharma wins. Really though you'd have to be dumb as hell to turn down a Fat Green Bag (or two) stuffed full of Cash.

With all the good news it's important not to let the lure of the Fat Green Bag to get outta hand. Sure you'll get a Fat Bag but over doing it is just setting yourself up for despair and gloom if it doesn't come to pass. I look at it like this: If I get 45 - 50 per then hey its all good for me. If I get over 50 per then that's just extra gravy. I'm not talking about just the buyout price either but also the stock price itself. Low balling your expectations will save yourself a lot of mental pain later. Then if you exceed those expectations you can celebrate like mad.

Haha, Nothing can stop AMRN now! Profit shall rain down like mad for ten years starting Monday!. Nothing can keep the stock price down anymore either. By this time next year the current stock price will seem "cheap", that is unless the Holy Buyout happens, which for all we know may happen before Christmas. P.S My T-babies just Hiked that Fat Divvy some more. So double the good news for me, haha.

For me AMRN is not just another stock. Some people just go "hey if I make money great, if I don't oh well" Which is fine and to be honest that's the right way to go about it. But for me, losing money on the deal was never an option cause I need all the money I can get. Long story short; I'm 36, didn't save as much as I should've during my 20's/early 30s. So now my retirement plan is kinda lacking. AMRN is a way to correct that mistake and give my retirement plan a big kick in the ass. Sure I've got a pension and a 401 and now a brokerage, etc. Both the pension and 401 are doing rather well, but still. It don't mater how good the investments are doing if your still behind as it were. All the retirement people tell you this; "by age 40 your on track for a nice retirement if you have double your salary in the bank (or invested)" Thanks to AMRN I'll hit that mark about 4 years sooner.

Nope, I'm still here. Really nothing is wrong with AMRN, just profit taking and fat cats wanting cheap shares before AMRN flies higher and/or the Buyout happens. Honestly ask yourself this; What has changed that is bad for AMRN recently? Answer; Not a damn thing, in fact good things have happened. Nobody said 30 per share or higher would happen overnight you know.. It takes time. They've overcame all the road blocks set in front of them so far ain't they? Look at the year's earning reports/sales. All though out this year both Profit and Sales have only done one thing; climb higher. There is nothing to indicate this will not keep on climbing in 2020 as well. Also, the fat cats ain't selling any, more like they're buying more, cause they know there's more Profit ahead.
AMRN will be ok and soon this latest stock movement will be all like a bad dream. The company has constantly hit the projections laid out by management. Profit/Sales is climbing higher. It's FDA backed. I mean hell what more could you ask for?

When a company does a reverse split, does that reduce the number of shares they're allowed to issue in the future? I know that most corporate charters are written to authorize the company to issue a ridiculous amount of shares, I'm just wondering if r/s affects this. Seems like it must, since if it didn't then they'd basically be de-issuing stock which they could then issue again later.

(Ignoring the outliers) So if I throw 1k in, I can reasonably expect, say, $100 - $200 in the first month? Throw that right back into more shares and collect the next months dividends on the new total? I must have something wrong; that’s like exponential growth...

I do our taxes each year. This is how it works. Each year during Tax season the brokerage will send you (or you can download it) a summary of all your trades. This summary is also sent to the IRS. Each important bit that needs to go on the tax forms is marked. You just fill in the "blanks" on the tax forms as needed. Same way you input your W-2 information or any interest income earned on savings. A key thing to remember is to don't rush into doing your taxes right away. Sometimes the brokerage likes to do late minute updates to your summary. So if you do your taxes and they do this update then you have to file an updated return.

Once AMRN delivers the Green Bags to me capital won't be an issue. More T-babies and more into my Funds. Then if ONTX coughs up a dollar or more hey all the better. Every little bit helps you know.

Yeah that's kinda me. My few stocks are companies I actually give two shits about for various reasons. AMRN, ONTX for the short term gains/profits. Honestly don't care more than that. Once I get my money I'm selling them both (although when I'm an old fuck I'll prob be taking some generic version of AMRN). My other stocks I plan to hold long term cause I do care about them. And you know they will make me a bit of green to so hey that's even better. Mostly my investments will be split between 3 funds once AMRN delivers the goods.

I think AMRN's days as an independent company is numbered. Why? Cause if you knew you had a goldmine at your fingertips you'd be marketing the shit outta it as soon as you could in order to rake in as much Profit as fast as you could. What have we seen post FDA approval? Apart from an interview on CNBC (which said not much of anything) not a thing. It's like the FDA good news never happened. The clock on Profit earning is ticking. 2030 will be here before you know it. It makes since to bag as much as you can while you can. So all this silence kinda means that they don't care much about marketing nor partnerships. I think the deal is getting worked up now. Once the litigation is over with then a formal thing will be announced.

Wouldn't be a shocker if AMRN got bought before January is over with for 45 - 50 a share. Profit don't lie. Big Pharma won't let AMRN keep anywhere close to 8 billion. People get you know "bumped off" for only a puny 5k now so yeah.. What would you do for 8 billion? What would Big Pharma do? Open the checkbook that's what.

This isn't a completely right answer. You still have to pay taxes on drip dividends. What you're looking for is a fund that reinvests rather than paying out dividends which... dunno if that exists because it would break from the model of mirroring S&P 500 (for SPY for example).

It should exist though hmmm

Bruh. The democrats keep the government divided. This lets corporations run rampant as the government take longer to do anything meaningful. If you like stock returns, you like having our two incompetent political parties having their hands around each other’s necks.

If they aren’t scoring political points by dabbing on eachother, they’ll start looking for bad guys like big tobacco, big tech, big pharma, etc. They’ll start slashing the entitlement programs that keep money flowing into big agribusiness and dairy. It’s just bad for business.

Even permabulls will concede that recession will happen at SOME point. But they think it'll be a few quarters and then back on the bull train. What most permabulls haven't yet realized is that the next recession is going to cause a chain-reaction 30-year depression because of the historic spread in over-leveraged bond spreads everywhere. It should have happened in 2008 but governments around the world stopped the dominoes from falling by printing money. China unironically saved the word by buying up most of the debt, but they won't be able to this time. https://youtu.be/1Lsxe5keB2A

China is much more ahead of the curve than US appears to be. They know they are reaching the upper limits of how much money they can print before the confidence barrier is breached, so they're letting Tewoo and others go bust to try and squash some of that moral hazard going around. It doesn't fix the problem, but at least it deters other state-owned corporations from going too crazy with debt and making the problem worse. China is also buying up gold at record rates, and that's just going by the publicly available information we know about, who knows how much they're buying under the covers.

When the liquidity crisis and inevitable hyperinflation hits pretty much everyone is fucked, but I think China will come out of it faring much better than USA. Their citizens are used to working hard and not living above their means (they have no choice), versus Americans like me who are entitled, proud, and lazy. In the 2030s I can definitely see China as the top superpower, it'll be a Psycho-Pass kind of world where everyone there is surveilled and controlled, but ironically they'll have a better standard of living than the West.
