I want to buy like $10 of ether just to be able to say that I invested in crypto. But how do I do that? I hear about wallets and buying and selling. How does it work? I downloaded something called Exodus but theres no option there that allows me to purchase anything. Also, do I have to find a buyer to be able to sell?

Its all so confusing. Is there a step by step instruction somewhere?

My friends mock me for not being into the coins. I make enough to keep myself fed and am not that interested in making lots of money. Sure I don't have a tv or a sofa but I don't need or want them. They constantly shit on me for not at least trying to invest in something. They all live in big houses while I rent.

Don't do it!
Once you buy, you will want more and more, and you won't be able to stop buying! You will waste all your money and become ...a bagholder!
