For some people that is a stable 9-5 job for 50 years, where accumulating wealth isn't that important relative to their social standing, family, whatever.

That sounds like hell to me but I'm not yet in a position where I can stop working so I can either kms or persist. I choose persist because it's obvious I can achieve a life worth experiencing where that isn't guaranteed in death. Plus life goes really fast may as well hang around to see what happens.

I was like you OP I read all the philosophy books, science, logic etc experimented with drugs saw psychologists and psychiatrists. None of it worked, there was no peace of mind and everything I found just came with other problems

God found me and turned my life around, he put friends in my life and everything has changed for the better. Life is great when you start to follow Christ, he is life and you won't find satisfaction anywhere else. Not in money, not in other people, not in drugs or find truth in secular science or by meditating on a cliff somewhere or in 'religion'. In Jesus you will find all the peace, satisfaction, meaning and truth you are looking for. And it's not some 'metaphor' it's a literal belief that Christ is god and he is the key to a relationship with the almighty and the ruler of everything in your life, it's a literal transcendental relationship with the Jesus in the new testament who was both man and god and is the cornerstone of all creation.

Give yourself to god, seek him with everything you've got and have an open mind he will answer your prayers and your suicidal thoughts and nihlism will disappear completely and he will put you on the path of righteousness and put good people and good things in your life

If you feel like you are at rock bottom mentally, and helpless, try getting an adderall prescription. I don't agree with most crutches, but this is one that can actually turn a hopeless nihilist into a productive and motivated individual. It turned my life around. Just a thought. It also allowed me to feel dopamine again, pushes me to tackle daunting tasks instead of forfeit, and makes me feel like the state of things can always be improved even if they suck now.
