We can all debate what is good/bad and try to all make money as a unit. Some people do share their info, I would like to thank the poster who mentioned NLTX and BCRX a week ago, and that works out. But then you have those meme stocks where someone says BUY AMRN and then a bunch of people get burned because no one challenged it. Long as the Board has the majority votes and shareholders give it the thumbs up then Big Pharma wins. Really though you'd have to be dumb as hell to turn down a Fat Green Bag (or two) stuffed full of Cash.

With all the good news it's important not to let the lure of the Fat Green Bag to get outta hand. Sure you'll get a Fat Bag but over doing it is just setting yourself up for despair and gloom if it doesn't come to pass. I look at it like this: If I get 45 - 50 per then hey its all good for me. If I get over 50 per then that's just extra gravy. I'm not talking about just the buyout price either but also the stock price itself. Low balling your expectations will save yourself a lot of mental pain later. Then if you exceed those expectations you can celebrate like mad.

Haha, Nothing can stop AMRN now! Profit shall rain down like mad for ten years starting Monday!. Nothing can keep the stock price down anymore either. By this time next year the current stock price will seem "cheap", that is unless the Holy Buyout happens, which for all we know may happen before Christmas. P.S My T-babies just Hiked that Fat Divvy some more. So double the good news for me, haha.

Some thought me mad as hell, others thought me "retarded" but who's the last one laughing now. The dude who's sitting on a gold mine thanks to AMRN or the dude who dismissed my claims as madness? Haha, fuck the haters and all that shit here's to me finally getting a nice Fat Wad of Green in the bank as well as kick starting my long range plan of a comfy retirement when I'm age 50 and age 65. I took a big ass gamble but oh hey look at that it's paid off for me in the end. Let that be a lesson to all; I always win in the end.

It would not be a surprise if Big Pharma knocks very loud on AMRN's door over the weekend/all next week. With a very nice deal in place before Christmas. They know the time to buy AMRN is before they can get the ball rolling. Cause the longer AMRN goes it alone the higher that stock price will climb and thus the more Green Bags Big Pharma would have to fork out.

At any rate, the hard part is over with. Now those who're in AMRN can kick back and relax a bit. After all the outlook for the company from here on is very bright indeed. Really the only thing you gotta concern yourself with is just what the hell your gonna do with your Fat Wads when you sell the stock.
Yes it may dip but tank? Hell no. The party as they say is just getting started. There's still more good news in the wings. Canada approval for one, a Buyout for another. Even if a buyout don't take place for a while, so what? The stock price will climb all throughout the year due to demand and drug profit out the ass. There's a shit load of people in the U.S alone who can now take this drug. Add Canada and the rest of the world to that and well, to say this current price is "cheap" is putting it very mildly.

They got their money’s worth out of the deal. I’m guessing they’ve covered it in box office sales alone. Then add in the money they’ll get from lisencing the IP for merch and video games, and the benefit to their streaming service that the old movies have, then the benefit from making as many spin off miniseries and movies as they want, and the Star Wars rides they’ll have in their theme parks...
This was never about satisfying the nerds who want their movie series to finish the one they remember from the fuckkng 80s (70s?).

I hear people really liked the spinoff cartoons. They should get Tarkovsky from samurai jack to make a series in the Star Wars universe or something.

Any good filmmaker or cartoonist with a star wars fanfic can go to Disney now, and they really do take good care of their IP. They keep it inoffensive and bland and boring enough where no one can really get upset. They learned from their early racist cartoons backfiring.

I have no idea what people are talking about with Disney mismanaging their franchises. It’s not about good filmmaking and it never was.

Can someone explain to me how writing calls isn't essential generating free money?

For example, lets say I have 300k worth of SPY and just wrote some monthly calls on those stocks. I make the call premium even if they don't hit the strike price, and even if they do I can still buy the stocks back for a slightly smaller profit after I've sold the call?

Like, what's the downside here? Am I just being retarded?

>> No.16613547

>>16613528
It could go up much more than the difference covered by the premium... and then you’d be stuck buying less shares or forking over more money. If it drops much lower, no one is going to want to buy a strike near your break even, so if you want to sell calls it’ll have to be for a price that’s much less than your breakeven, risking that you’d be selling at a loss.

That’s all I can think of but I haven’t looked into it really.

Thoughts: everyone is leveraged in the stock market in some way. Shoeshine boys everywhere you look. Inflation is still suppressed. Everyone is in the market because wages have still not caught up for the majority of workers since the gfc. People are using market gains and retirement accounts to make ends meet and vacation, family planning. The Fed has been trying to increase inflation to a target level but stubbornly it stays low. Really that's also because people are saving a whole lot more than they did before the crisis, and we don't have much time to raise rates. What would be ideal is if a new generation that did not experience the crisis and is oblivious starts spending. But that's not happening, everyone is saving and investing waiting for the next crisis. My point: The Fed is hoping that the market will give such high gains over the next year or two that people will spend finally and the Fed can raise rates at that point. Conclusion: The Fed will be pumping the market to fill the common man's coffers until they stop. The market is now the "stimulus package" Wake up sheeple.

The middle class is supposed to be expanding and luxury goods and status symbols have really been catching on lately. They’re buying nikes and lulus. A Nintendo switch is $200, that’s not even 2 pairs of Nike’s, though I don’t know how much they go for in China.

>Switch rollout in China
They are heavily restricted by Chinese rules and regulation. They launched it with only some dozen of approved games and only one game from Nintendo.
They can play international games but their internet service can only be logged in through Tencent Wechat, they can view but not add any users from other servers as friends. All online battle functions are currently not functioning whereas local multiplayers can work normally. You cannot even upload screenshot onto social network. The whole exercise of launching Switch in China is as pointless as expected.
>>16613771
Some of them do play console games. Even after neglecting those who play pirated games on hacked console, there are still quite a bit of users who will buy console and play those games. But the thing is whoever spending their money to do so would most likely import a foreign unit that have all the functions and can play all the international games without needing to worry about censorship. PS4 somewhat bypassed the dilemma by secretly allowing players to bypass restriction and connect to foreign PSN account but Nintendo doesn't have any intention to do so. This is not the first time Nintendo tried to release a console within China and all their previous attempts were disastrous jokes, the only thing different here this time is they partner with Tencent, but I cannot see how that can compensate the absence of basic function and the ability to play different games with different players.

Ok, I am not much of an auto guy but I know Tesla has serious problems meeting demand for manufacture and supplying replacement parts (If you need a new side panel you're waiting months) AND maintaining QC standards (mold due to bad seals comes to mind).

So...if Ford (or GM or whatever) can appropriately get into EV wouldn't they win with their command of economy of scale?

This also assumes the infrastructure to support EV...rapid charging stations all over and such.
