You'd think right? Nope, my grandparents own a cattle ranch and I helped with butchering the family's meat orders every summer, and still do every couple years. You'd be fucking amazed just how different cattle that are properly grazed and treated taste. I also never realized people thought steak was a delicacy for the longest time because I had freezers full of it growing up, and was sick of eating steak and ribs and hamburger 6 times a week. Any process turns useful energy into another form of useful energy with a net loss of wasted energy, ie entropy. When you live you want to actualize a certain something out of the freely available useful energy to you.

Finding out exactly what you want to actualize (usually a wife and kids and some creative ventures that also live on in the collective consciousness), and then doing it in the shortest amount of time possible and across the largest amount of space possible is what life is about.

This is exactly because of entropy. Without entropy, there would be no "spent" energy and time would not be a valuable commodity, in other words our actions would not be urgent or meaningful. There would be no death either.

The only examples I can think of are stuff like when you beat eggs - you introduce entropy to exploit some property of the alkaline proteins, or you shake a container of popcorn so all the big ones come to the top and the kernels drop to the bottom which saves you picking through for the big ones.
