To take this to forex, what basically drives forex, fundamentally, are the carry trades from differences in interest rates between two countries. I think what things like fractals (or fibonacci, which is what I'm trying to currently get the hang of) are picking up on are the repeating behaviors that lead to price changes. Basically an economy contracts, at a greater rate than another, leading to a change in the interest rate differential, then it expands, at a rate greater than another. This "cyclical" behavior might form repeatable patterns in an exchange rate.

Same thing with individual companies, they grow, then competition gets fierce or they become less efficient, then they contract. Of course, what a business
goes through is actually very complicated, but it's price movement might basically form a cycle.

I'm not sure what drives bitcoin, exactly maybe fiat contraction and expansion or economic stability and instability cycles? I'm not sure what the halving might do.
