If I decide to work during the paid week break, I will get paid, and for each day I come it, get a PTO day to be used at any time during 2020. Holidays make no difference when you have no one to spend them with, so I'd rather just bank up my PTO in the hopes that I will have something better to use them on in the future.

Nothing about their legislation regarding workers would surprise me anymore, worker rights don't exist.
They are free to basically prevent unions from being created, they can fire you for any reason unless you have a really ubsurd proof they are discriminating and even then it depends on the situation, they can limit relationships among consensual adults if they both work for them, I'm not even sure they have to give paid time off at all to be honest

In my country wages are slightly higher than the US (a lot higher for low end jobs), we get 4+ weeks of paid vacation, work 20% less hours, paid sick leave, comfy workplace pension on top of public pension etc.
