Okay /biz/. I'm sick of being poor, deprived, slaved and depressed. I've turned 19 and I realise I want to get into investments, specifically real estate. I suffer from depression and I said to myself last year that if things don't change for the positive, I'll kill myself at 40. I'll do this because of the dread I've seen from the working world growing up and I never thought there was an alternative for me, I'll just do CS and be a code monkey for 20 years, but now I've come to this decision to change my perspective.

The business and financial world is very foreign to me, so I'm desperate to learn at this point. I just need credible advice, places to start, online courses, etc. I live with my Mom and I receive €80/week of social welfare, so I'm not exactly loaded and I live in Ireland but I'm not shy of international investment. If you help, you might just save my life and I'll be eternally greatful to anyone in the thread, even the shitposters.

Good luck. I've been in planning and development for a decade and it's a piece of cake coming up with ideas for developments. Who can't imagine sticking a giant concrete box on a piece of land? The difficulty is in the money involved. Honestly, if you think this is a magical ticket out of the world of work and into getting insanely rich without doing anything, you've picked the hardest and most fucking obvious option. Have you tried just being a bricklayer instead? It's not that bad. Pay's alright. You're independent. In demand. Learn the ropes about building so when you do have enough money when you're 40, you can choose to invest your earnings in a development instead of killing yourself with a Poitín overdose

Step 2: Exchange money for property.

Step 2 depends on how much money you have. So without that, theres nothing else to learn.

if there is an extra room in your house, you can start renting it out. If its nice and your famliy is quiet, then you can even offer it on airbnb.
I still wouldn't discount the idea of having an actual job btw OP, It never hurts having an additional stream of income especially if you're learning.
