the way i see it, and these are the dominoes that need to fall in order of how i think they'll happen.

1) hyperledger mainnet and big companies in the financial and tech world bending the knee

2) smart contracts being used more by said companies. people here with their dopamine running low are forgetting that smart contracts are barely useful right now and still don't have as many applications as tech nerds think they will. smart contracts are still in very early development and this is early on in the early adopters phase where really only enthusiasts are playing around with smart contracts, we're years off on the usage curve. i think this will result in the true singularity.

3) automation to kick in and for services rendered through automation to be settled via automatic digital payments and smart contracts. this is the one thats furthest off. maybe closer to the middle or the late 2020s. this is where we'll see if link can truly be an "industry standard." and only for the more patient linkies.

id recommend selling off in phases though. if i were you and i were poor id try to wait until ~10% of your link stack is game changing money though. as much or more than you can make in 2 years of work.

this is just speculation thinking if link increases in values every couple of years for the next 10 years or more, but say link megamoons in the not too distant future, sell off a percentage of your links. then on the next leg up from there, sell off another percentage, etc. and keep at least a core percentage of your stack just in case a small stack by todays standards can allow you to get some kind of insane NEET node in the future or just in case they announce some weird staking products that makes people that aren't large enterprises but are still link holders rich.

Why would staking do anything for the price, brainlets. Staking will not magically create node usage, there's no paying customers waiting to use your stake. Chainlink being a bridge to real world data is a very good thing for speculative action, because it means they have the potential to interact with so many famous entities and in a wide variety of industries. Even if it's just a connection to an API. Having said that, you also have to remember they released the PayPal oracle without any marketing, even though it could/should have been huge opportunity for hype. Most on this board are barely even aware of it, Twitter normies certainly aren't. Sometimes they fuck up like this. They lucked out on the Google blog post, if you remember correctly, the big query oracle was already online for some time before the blog post, and no one cared then. Because that's all it is, a connection to a public API. They could release a swift oracle tomorrow on the documentation page, and it wouldn't get noticed or trigger a pump, unless swift also released an official announcement on their end.
