I’m permaholding 147 Monero because I sent the coins to my wallet without syncing it and have tried fucking syncing the blockchain on 4 different computers with different OS and it fails everytime. I’m assuming they are in that address and I can’t access the seed since it is on a ledger. I don’t know what the fuck to do it about so i just said fuck it, if they are worth a lot one day i’ll figure it out. It craps out on me everytime, so frusturating.

you cannot compare the hash rate 1 to 1, so the change in the hash rate will give you zero information. randomX needs a lot of memory, thats why I expect that bot nets will be excluded from mining.

can you give a criteria you are waiting for? How would you recognize a success or a failure? How can you say whether bot nets are still on the network or not? and if so, is it bad or good?

>> No.16137745

>>16137584
>How would you recognize a success or a failure?

If hashing rate does not collapse and starts growing it will be good.
The danger i see in randomX is that it could trigger a collapse in hashrate by making cheaper hardware to be more economically feasible than better hardware.
This could trigger a non stop decay in hashrate , probably.

>How can you say whether bot nets are still on the network or not? and if so, is it bad or good?

I never used monero but i am interested in crypto in general one of the reasons randomX was designed to use memory is because monero was hit by botnets mining and using lot's of ram is a way to stop that and no it's not good it's terribly bad as a 51% attack could be easily done by hijacking normal cpus.

Monerujo, if you use andoid, get it on f-droid.
Or use gui with easy mode (remote node) on a desktop, get it on getmonero.org.
Cake wallet on IOS.

Unfortunally there are no remote nodes in south america as you may see here: https://autonode.xmr.pm/
So you may get some delay with wallet sync. But hey, maybe you will host the first remote node on your continent. I do.

It really does take the same libertarian values and pushes them even further, doesn't it. My buddy has a theory that Satoshi made Bytecoin coin (again anonymously) that Monero is a fork of. And also that it was his intention that the community fork that project to give it the most ideal launch possible. I'm not sold on this theory, but I am sold on the tech. While most of my value is in BTC, as a percentage of networked owned, my biggest position is XMR. My dream of a perfect future see's us forcing governments to use BTC in a transparent way for (almost) everything so we can track how they spend our money in real time, while private people use XMR for strong privacy. Don't really think it will happen exactly like that, but it's a nice fantasy.
