How the hell did tuition shoot way the fuck up in just a couple decades? Are boomers to blame for this? The colleges?

Because education is valuable, like real estate or food.

the colleges mostly, they are for-profit and will charge whatever people are willing to pay, demand for admittance is super high and there is tons of available cash thanks to loans and scholarships. It’s a nice racket

Nah, people have just become more passive and will pay what it's being sold for.

Wrong

It's because government backed loans started being given out to every retard with a high school diploma. Universities and corporations like Sodexo and Pearson siphon so much of that loan money away and now a bunch of millenial sõycuck baristas are demanding that the American taxpayer foot the bill. It's all a massive fucking scam

I went to Penn State in 1991 it was tuition was about $2000/semester.
Dropped out after 2 years and joined the Army. Went back to Penn State in 1997 and tuition was about $3000 per semester.
Just looked at their website and its literally OVER 9000 a fucking semester.
I seriously doubt anyone going there now is getting 3x the value of what I got.

Sodexo literally makes Guantanamo Pizza.

Fuck just looked at room and board rates.
I was paying about $1000 for a dorm room with roommate and a meal plan per semester. The base meal plan always ran out before the end of the semester and you would have to pay a couple hundred bucks extra.
Now its over $3000 for the dorm and $2000 for the meal plan per semester.
That's about $1000/month for a one room dorm with a roomate and communal bathroom. You can rent a nice house for that in most places.
