Like the only value proposition here is being able to use other people's devices to vote in a less tampered way, but there's easier and cheaper ways to set up the same things with multiple parties.

If any serious business wanted to operate in the same way, they could just set up an application with each party to pull the appropriate api data, without the need for extra validators.

Literally the value proposition is a computers operated by each party involved. If the results of each party's api feed doesn't match, then the contract doesn't approve. Any program can be set up to pass that result to blockchain without issue.

In reflection, there's not really any way to trustlessly put data like link proposes on blockchain. You can't reliably get the temperature in a city, for example. Even if you had a group of nodes voting for the temperature, what if a factory starts pumping steam in the air, downwind from a little over half of the town's thermometer nodes. The steam raises them all by ten degrees and then they majority vote that the temp is higher than what it truly was.
