Richard has that autistic argument that the sybil attack problem hasn't been solved and decentralized oracles do not work because any vetting would be centralized etc. And he's right to some extent. But he does not understand that there's a critical mass that's enough to secure the right behavior of all players once you introduce individual stakes and a shared stake in the network. For some reason tho, he understands that about bitcoin. What his argument about 51% attacks on bitcoin is: once somebody takes all the resources to do this, it will not be worth it for the person attacking the network because yes they can scam some BTC through fake transactions or something but it won't be worth shit once the network is attacked and all trust is lost. Most people just sell once it makes the news and your pirated treasure is worthless. Also it's highly profitable to just mine regularly with all those resources, you'll get a more secure and higher ROI over a longer timescale. Same goes for Chainlink. Yeah you can buy lots of LINK, spin up non KYCd nodes and swing some huge contract by faking some sports betting outcome, get the reward and run with the money while righteous node operators get rekt but what's that worth when that proves that the network doesn't work, everybody abandons ship and you got some worthless tokens out of it.
