How do I move up the career ladder when there are no stepping stones?

>31 years old
>Want to work outside as a career path
>Love working with my hands
>Constantly applying for apprenticeships
>Not even an interview
>Feel the clock ticking
>Pretty sure no one wants a 31 year old boomer to be learning the ropes.

Anyone in a horticultural field got any advice?
UK fag if that helps.

1. Work hard
2. Be passionate
3. Demonstrate your dedication
4. Be full of ideas
5. Don't ask for a raise

yeah UK garden designer here. Fuck apprenticeships, go to college and do an NC, then an HND in Horticulture, or Garden design.

31 isnt too old, loads of people get into gardening late.
