Suppose there's a San-Francisco-based tech company, and someone wants to snitch on it for facilitating money laundering. Whom should he contact? Asking for a friend.

He should contact a securities lawyer NOT based in SF, else they may turn on you. Or, if your a ballsy go getter with connections, find an activist short seller. He will probably bleed you dry but if you play your cards right you could get the IRS bonus and a cut from the activist short seller. If someone who isnt you works at said company, make sure you work through with a securities lawyer to avoid any insider trading charges.
