A few years ago I stumbled onto this board after perusing pol. I was triggered into a manic episode after watching HWNDU clips. Somehow I came to this board. I think it was a banner ad actually. All these weirdos are posting memes about Ants. Saying this crypto with this cartoon ant was going to "moon." My crypto cherry was popped. I had .01 BTC that I received from doing a livestream on blab.im a failed livestreaming site. I thought I could increase my BTC by buying AntShares but I didn't have the courage to make the transaction. I could have bought quite a few at the time I think it was like 22 ANS but I didn't. I proceeded to go almost manic watching the memes for days. The price fluctuating in all directions. I still don't have the courage to buy any. I decided to buy 1 and I sold it when it went to 22$. I felt stupid when it became NEO and kept going to $149. I realized the power of crypto but am a poor fag. I wasn't even on disability yet. I got on disability and found out I was a 35 yo neet. I was disappointed in myself. My parents were just happy that I wasn't manic at the time. I started taking medication for bipolar and desired more after leveling out. I started school at a community college to get a cheap BAS degree. It cost me 11k in student loans. I had the opportunity to take out more. LINK was cheap then. I would have a really respectable stack if I had some balls but I couldn't justify owing that money while on disability. I am also a state and federal felon so I was mainly getting the degree because I couldn't find work even I was healthy enough. But I wasn't healthy. I finished the little community college degree with a 3.89GPA. Someone in my family died and left my mom 280k. She said she would pay for an MBA if I could get accepted into one. I found one online at EWU for 15k. She agreed to pay for it. Now, I'm a 37 yo graduate student getting an MBA in Finance. Parents are happy, too.

My example concerns a young woman patient who, in spite of efforts made on both sides, proved to be psychologically inaccessible. The difficulty lay in the fact that she always knew better about everything. Her excellent education had provided her with a weapon ideally suited to this purpose, namely a highly polished Cartesian rationalism with an impeccably "geometrical" idea of reality. After several fruitless attempts to sweeten her rationalism with a somewhat more human understanding, I had to confine myself to the hope that something unexpected and irrational would turn up, something that would burst the intellectual retort into which she had sealed herself. Well, I was sitting opposite her one day, with my back to the window, listening to her flow of rhetoric. She had an impressive dream the night before, in which someone had given her a golden scarab — a costly piece of jewellery. While she was still telling me this dream, I heard something behind me gently tapping on the window. I turned round and saw that it was a fairly large flying insect that was knocking against the window-pane from outside in the obvious effort to get into the dark room. This seemed to me very strange. I opened the window immediately and caught the insect in the air as it flew in. It was a scarabaeid beetle, or common rose-chafer (Cetonia aurata), whose gold-green colour most nearly resembles that of a golden scarab. I handed the beetle to my patient with the words, "Here is your scarab." This experience punctured the desired hole in her rationalism and broke the ice of her intellectual resistance. The treatment could now be continued with satisfactory results.

i tried to mine bitcoin in 2009 after seeing endless threads about it on /b/ and /g/ and how it was a new governance model and would be super disruptive etc etc, i didn't understand money or finance at the time, but understood the mining aspect of it. I had the software downloaded but i couldn't figure out how to create a public/private key pair to mine the coins into and gave up.

I remember the "we hit a dollar!" thread after months and months of ignoring the threads

I remember googling the price at $1 that day and wondering "how is this worth money" and never realizing that it actually WAS money.

I saw it at $50 and shrugged it off

I saw it at $500 when i needed to buy steroids for a buddy and went "holy FUCK how is this $500 now? the fuck?"

I didn't actually buy until i saw it at $1,500 in 2017 and went oh my god i need to figure this out, which happened to coincide with me reaching my max earning years at work and needing to learn about investing for the first time. If only i knew a fucking lick about money in 2009... if only.... it's a cruel life anons..
