It's ironic that your OP pic has Trump, who has declared bankruptcy multiple times and too-big-to-failed himself into repaying fractions of loans

I have a friend who owes me 200 dollars because I paid to get his car towed when him and his girlfriend were in a tight spot. It wasn't three months ago, and I haven't seen him since.

Sometimes you do things out of the good of your heart just because it seems right, and you'd hope someone would do the same for you. The truth is that sometimes you just gotta say no. It only leads to more and more people tryna leech off of you. I've cut off and stopped hanging out with a lot of people because they always wanted to borrow money.

Jew here, I always pay back money when it’s lent to me. Probably because I view money as an important thing or some shit.

I hate borrowing or lending money because it just strains relashuns. It’s always hanging over me “oh shit you owe him money you better not forget”

Once lent a coworker money and the dude literally quit that day and I never saw him again. Mexican, turns out drug addict. I consider it the fee I paid to not get involved in his bullshit.

Even a small amount of money can destroy a friendship, unfortunately. Also, you have to understand that lending someone money does not put you in a position of power - it puts them in it. Now THEY control you, they are in charge, and you are the one begging for a favour (them paying you back).

This will fuck things up no end and as more time passes, emotionally it feels to them like you're just nagging for something over and over and being pathetic.

When you lend someone money, they lose respect for you, and resent that you want the money back. It feels, after a while, like them just giving you money for nothing.

Avoid lending money at all but if you must, take some collateral of a similar value which you can then sell or at least hold hostage. Unsecured, casual loans = money is gone.

Another point - consider this: why does the person need to borrow money from you? Why don't they have that amount already, wtf is wrong with their life and finances that means they need to borrow from you, and what makes you think those circumstances will change? Because if they don't change, they aren't ever going to have spare cash around to pay you back, are they?
