I was thinking about making a smart contract for investing in memes. The more popular the meme gets the more money you earn and if a meme drops in popularity you lose money. It would probably need chainlink though to connect it to knowyourmeme where it would get the rankings of the memes to determine price. Then you could buy memes when they are fresh and then dump them when they reach reddit and facebook. Thoughts on this?

Not a terrible idea; if a "meme market" like you describe it were to become popular it could distort the integrity of meme culture (forced/spammed content by "shareholders"+pajeet/bot farms to boost value of speculations, creation of inauthentic memes for said purposes etc...)
