also, to those that say that eth 2.0 takes for ever and what not. you have no idea how long time software can take to develop.
this is not going to be some hack some random team puts up on github.
this will have to be worked on a long time before you can trust it with any money. that is what takes time. to actually create something that is stable enough in all possible areas that you can actually off-load important data, trust to it and use it for serious shit. this will potentially host a big part of the future economy...

if an organisation wants to provide off-chain data. what hinders them doing so in house with their home made ethereum wrapper. they pay the gas fees and store whatever they can. everbody knows who microsoft is so they would just slap a certificate of some sort on the data like we do with https today to prove the authenticity. anyway, the company has a smart contract and the client uses that one and.... am I oversimplyfing too much?
