Eth is the current king of smart contracts, it will moon first with adoption, link will follow

eth’s smart contract properties are irrelevant compared to the link platform, which can handle any kind of smart contract without relying on a bunch of random tokens

ETH is a mess
unlimited supply and 2.0 is never going to be released
so many problems that they have already accepted any changes will break current contracts
miners just upped the gas limit while "full nodes" only keep track of relevant transactions to you
only archive nodes can get a grasp of the full network, but ETH scammers say oh you don't need a full record of transactions
everything ETH promises is a lie

why does eth need link exactly? kek

>> No.15898991

>>15898912
Wow how does it even function right now. They should just shut eth down till link gets adopted. Maybe when there’s a link users we can merge the link code into the eth code base . Oh that’s right link isn’t open source and the founder is hoarding an unruly supply of the token. Not to mention link becomes obsolete when eth2 launches you heard it here first. Tootles!!

I love threads like this it reminds me that the market is still irrational and lots of opportunities to prey on trend reversals.

>> No.15899030

you can already do what you want on eth. that was the whole point of smart contracts. if it is turing complete, it can run what you want.

other cryptos like link will surf on this wave and offer solutions to change the way things are interacted with. but thats it, they are tailored solutions.
without the underlying platform they mean nothing.

its like comparing firefox to the gcc compiler

Actually it’s like comparing http to a computer.

Eth is basically useless without access to offchain data.
Like a computer with no internet. Literally.

Eth is nice, and is a good basis for smart contracts. But they are dumb smart contracts right now.
Plus link will scale ETH.

>> No.15899144

also, to those that say that eth 2.0 takes for ever and what not. you have no idea how long time software can take to develop.
this is not going to be some hack some random team puts up on github.
this will have to be worked on a long time before you can trust it with any money. that is what takes time. to actually create something that is stable enough in all possible areas that you can actually off-load important data, trust to it and use it for serious shit. this will potentially host a big part of the future economy...
I am glad that it takes time.

I doubt you’ve wrote a single erc-20 contract or have a single fucking clue what you’re talking about.

That’s code for “I did a boot camp and think I’m good at it now”

Lmao so basically you might have some knowledge about legacy boomer systems, but if you’ve done literally anything with Ethereum or solidity you’d know it practically does live in a vaccuum right now. Your choices for external data integration are oraclize, or chainlink.

Also, have fun being out of a job cause you’re literally going to be replaced by chainlink.

Boot camp? I barely passed high school kid. I’m self taught. I have nothing to prove to you . I was offering a slight glimpse into the actual real world not some hypothetical one you live in where swift buys everyone’s bags. Also there’s plenty of ways to get data on chain I don’t need some middleware that charges in an arbitrary amount of a token.

This blockchain agnostic is false narrative

It took them 6m to rewrite basic codebase in to go 2018, can u imagine how much time/work would it take to rewrite everything now and launch mainnet on different sc platform.

>Staking goes live in lets say december, 2 years passes we all make money shit is workingwe feed data to world in decentralsied way, fuck yeah, derivates etc.

i just dont understand one thing. some enlighten please.

if an organisation wants to provide off-chain data. what hinders them doing so in house with their home made ethereum wrapper. they pay the gas fees and store whatever they can. everbody knows who microsoft is so they would just slap a certificate of some sort on the data like we do with https today to prove the authenticity. anyway, the company has a smart contract and the client uses that one and.... am I oversimplyfing too much?

smart contract platforms cannot be adopted into the real world (in a meaningful manner) without a decentralized oracle network to feed it real world events data.
that's all that needs to be said on the topic of link and eth.
