It’s more of an opportunity cost type of deal right now in my city it’s cheaper for me to rent than buy the duplex since I live in a kind of shitty apartment in a nice part of town for 650 a month. The mortgage on the duplex in question is like 1600 a month and one unit rents for 825 the other 890. Some literal Boomer bought the place for like 160k 7 years ago and was asking 250k a few months ago and is now down to 234k. I refuse to buy that fags bags at the top considering housing is due up for a correction when I could be investing that down payment in crypto and potentially x5-10 that money. 64 year old legit Boomer here my grandson showed me this thread.
I have 2900 shares of GM stock, worked at GM for 27 years and wanted to invest in my future.
Got 1200 shares of Ford. Didn’t work there are long but they offered me a good package after I retired from GM so I took them up on it.
That is about it other than an annuity from my insurance man. And a whole life policy to keep the missus happy.

Got my house paid off but I see prices are down some around here.

Also have some gold and silver put away in the basement but I don’t want to say how much.

Got no college degree and my wife never worked we raised 5 kids always had a home and 2 cars and food on the table goes to show if you just work hard you can have nice things just apply yourself.
