The flaw with this reasoning is that you're assuming all those people (or even a significant portion) will ever give a damn about crypto. The truth is that this 1.5m number represents a very large chunk, maybe even the majority, of people who ever will.

the locking in price is a trezor feature, it protects the value of your assets even if they drop, kind of like having sell options at a higher price, but it's part of the bitcoin protocol.

Buddy, at least 5B people will use crypto, most wont know about it. 4.5B use the Internet now, by the time crypto is a dominant force in our technological infrastructure that number will be somewhere between 5-6B. People don’t need to be interested in crypto to use it. Every company in the world will switch over to a blockchain stack at some point.

1.5M people becoming millionaires over the next few years is equally as insignificant.

look, you're dumb for 2 reasons:

1. I was obviously talking about people who buy ledger wallets. most of them buy more than one.
2. people who use wallet on their phone don't have backups, especially not 5 external backups. maybe a paper backup hidden in some book at most.

Who would honor an $18K price tag when the price is $8K? Why would anyone honor this pricetag? This makes no sense to me. And if it's apart of the bitcoin protocol, why isn't this a universal feature across wallets and even on the exchanges?

you're just incredulous because you weren't around at the peak of the bull market.
price locking with a wallet fucking works.
Personally, I just unlocked mine and sent it over to huobi, bought myself a cool stash of RSR, a suicide stack of RLC, and a bit of Link. I'll keep buying in if Link dips again.
Btw, you can only get the full value when you unlock it, for the equivalent in a stable coin.
Since other shitcoins have tanked since the peak, you'll probably getting a bad exchange rate with those.

The flaw with your reasoning is that you assume fiat wont completely collapse like every single other time it has ever been tried throught the history of the human race. When it does, what do you think people will turn to? Gold, which despite making an excellent currency cannot be easily sent long distances quickly without resorting to receipt banking which will inevitably degrade into fiat? Or this readily available digital currency that can do fancy shit on top of being easily transferrable without relying on a bank and without giving a central authority power to inflate the supply?
If you werent retarded you would realize that its not just likely to be adopted by every person on the planet, its nearly guaranteed. You are like the guy saying that cars will never replace horses, or that man will never fly, or that the internet will never take off.
