Why hasn't LN succeeded? Well, before 2016 the ecosystem was basically just Bitcoin and without any “political” stance in unison all the desktop and mobile apps were just Bitcoin-only. The inability for the block space to increase past the too little too late Segwit doubling of space meant due to market forces we entered a multi coin market. The UX is there for each and every single wallet app to support LN as an additional “token”. However, like Monero integration it's more difficult than adding Litecoin or Dash. It's like adding EOS or NEO. Meaning more upfront brain powered engineering that goes slow. Not copy paste integrations.

There's an inevitability to the LN succeeding. I believe it will be hub and spoke because I don't think the routing problem is trivial. Email is hub and spoke despite at the base layer you could in theory run your own node. The physical layer of the internet is hub and spoke. So it's a whole great nuisanced topic that would make fun meet up convos. Like part of the issue is educational not technical.

LN is vaporware and BitCoin scales on chain just fine. BSV will be the only coin to rise from the ashes that are about to come.
