Unless Craig somehow gains access to Hal's brain wallet, he won't be able to sign anything that actually belongs to Satoshi.

I wouldn't doubt that Craig could fool some magistrate, or some middle aged housewife, or some investor into believing that he's the real Satoshi... But he won't be fooling anyone who's been a part of the Bitcoin community for more than 6 years. It wasn't until 6 years ago that people started jumping on the bandwagon and not taking the time to care about the reason it was invented.

If Craig wants SV to replace Core, all he needs to do is sign a single message... One trivial message is all it would take to trigger the mass migration...

If Craig were actually Satoshi, his battle to establish himself legally as "Satoshi" would already constitute a violation of the psudonymity that the real Satoshi went to great lengths to painstakingly preserve. Further, if Craig were really Satoshi, after going so far to prove himself as Satoshi in court and having already violated his psudonymity since we all know the genesis belongs to Satoshi, simply signing a message would be all he needs to do to win in the court of public opinion...

Follow this. There is no such thing as an irrevokable blind trust. All blind trusts are revokable, which makes this whole thing laughable since the grantor can revoke the blind trust at any time while remaining anonymous. No coins have been moved, so the wallet file itself could only be the asset contained within the trust. The purpose of a blind trust is to protect the anonymity of the grantor, and were Craig the actual grantor, the blind trust would no longer exist when he publicly claimed to be Satoshi.

Also, assuming the genesis wallet is contained within a blind trust, Satoshi would be able to gain access to it at any time.

This all stinks to high hell because Craig is jumping over hurdles and working his way backwards through convoluted legal channels in order to avoid the simple process of revoking a trust. The real Satoshi would be able to quickly accomplish this at will.

Actually he does need to sign... He already claimed ownership, nullified any protection that would have been offered by the existence of any blind trust, and has also created a rival product.

If he is the real Satoshi, he's created the potential for a real conflict of interest here. If the real Satoshi were to abandon core, he would have burned the genesis coins. Enough people within the community have reasonable cause to believe this that his refusal to provide something as trivial as a signature could rightly be considered withholding relevant information, which would be an illegal act and a violation of the public trust.

By claiming himself to be Satoshi, he's making a property claim. He's claiming ownership of the genesis block, and if he is the real Satoshi, he has a fiduciary responsibility to provide the public with any information that could impact the value of his financial products. That includes both SV, and core...
