Would it be possible, in theorie, just to buy expensive stock from a company we don't like and sale them for peanuts, just to fuck with them and have fun watching the graphic?

>> No.15575859

depends on the volume kid

Which is it? In theory sure, but it's not likely that anyone on here has enough money to be willing to do that as a gag, so realistically no, not possible

>> No.15575901

Yea they’d love watching their bots gobble up the shit you sell under market price so they can sell it back at market price. Are you retarded?

To be honest I would but.

I don't know how much stock I need to sale to move the graphic.

Al I don't know if there are any laws against that. So for the sake of it, I talk about it with hypothesis.

For the sake of learning anonymously.
Talk to me as if everything you were telling me was something absolutely new for me.

Do most companies have bots, who are already to rebuy in case of a low ball offer?

most companies run algorithms which flash trade faster than we can in mass volumes.

it's basically ai but no one talks about it.

>> No.15576076

The company itself doesn't have the bot. Wall Street traders do.

This would only work with a super low-volume stock. A company that's worth a few million. Unless you have more money that anybody else on /biz/.

Thanks for telling me. Now I have something new I want to learn about

So lets say small companies owned by people I dislike, that just entered the market?

>> No.15576174

>>15576106
Sure, you could do it.

I mean, it's not like they'd lose their shares, or the company would lose any actual value. It would just mean the stock price crashes. And the price would eventually go back up. The more you sold, the more it would go down, and the longer it would take to start going back up.

But I suppose it would create a moment of terror.

>>15576106
You could theoretically crash their stock price but since none of the fundamentals are affected by stock price they would literally be totally unharmed by this, whereas you'd be out of a ton of money. Their revenue, business models, etc. would all remain unchanged.

HFTs aren't using AI, beating the market has always been a matter of bruteforce and speed.
