Programming is about thinking not typing.
The job is about figuring out what people want built then looking up examples that are similar then modifying the examples to do what you want.
What is your existing degree? Do you have any other interests? You can learn to code by making something you want. I like trading so I am working to make an auto trading bot for myself.

Basically retiring, not having to think about needing to sell your labor. I gave up the idea of ever having an "enjoyable job" after selling my time/labor for 5 years at multiple companies

It's basically impossible for me to make money off any of my hobbies /interests/passions which makes wageslaving worse; i have been poor for so long (never had more than $100 until i was 20 and didnt have $1000 until 21. 26 now i have maybe $5k)
So i only need money for basic necessities

Least horrible job i can think of is remote + part time / choose hours (i prefer starting work after lunch time)

That is what mine is in i couldnt get a jo; doing jack shit except programming. Now i'm a programmer only making $19/hr after 5 yrs.
So make sure you get connections.
