Bitcoin is open source and lots of people have deconstructed and researched it inside out. There are even bitcoin clients written in different programming languages from the ground up, lots of tools, so there are quite a lot of people deeply proficient in the bitcoin architecture (CSW, however, has been shown not to understand it very thoroughly so he's likely a paid actor indeed)
