Oil's a really tough one so I honestly can't say.

If the economy shrinks, demand will fall significantly. But production would too. EROI has been shrinking too, which adds all kinds of additional complexity.

To be honest, there are just way too many moving parts in the oil sector to predict what will happen. But Gail Tverberg at https://ourfiniteworld.com writes a lot about oil and global energy systems if you want to dig in further.

Honestly the only problem with platinum from my perspective is that its less emotionally desired by the population than gold and silver because it lacks the same history, other than that its a very useful metal which appears to be undervalued atm compared to its past value. Back during the 2009-2011 bullrun dealers were buying junk silver for 30% less than it was worth

The refiners want .9999
they get super backed up on smelting orders for any mixed metals for months and the dealers quickly learned that buying junk and trying to resell to their connections resulted in a huge 30-40% resell price drop

.9999 is the only way to go. Junk silver is for bartering boomers, and if thats your thing then sure fine, just expect for coin shops to pay a lot less than the silver content is worth for junk when the price starts skyrocketing and supply shortages begin.
