55 billion will be dumped on you

There is literally zero need for a decentralised stable coin like RSV, the stablecoins already established do a fine job of pegging to USD, something RSV will be doing for literally years, while maintaining LESS liquidity. Even if the project survives the 5+ years needed to then move away from USD into a diversified portfolio what's the fucking point? If the USD crashes you think the rest of the global economy won't tank longside it? Not only that the project founder himself stated that he doesn't expect to tokenize all the assets in the smart contract in which RSV will be pegged to, he expects independent organisations and 'the community' to do it themselves as it would take way too much work to index them all.

What will be happening during those 5+ years RSV is pegged to the dollar? Reserve will be targeting 3rd world countries with hyper inflationary currencies to provide a means of exchange/store of value through crypto, a laudable goal but not something you should be paying attention to if you want to be making money because well, these countries don't bring in a lot of cash flow.

The project is too little too late.

You're entire argument is based on the presumption that existing stablecoins do a good job. They don't. If (you) had to hold 100k in a stablecoin, would you hold it in tether and get exit scammed or USDC and get blocked/frozen funds? Even Gemini has backdoor access hard coded. (You) would hold it in RSV because you can garauntee it's safety and value. Good fud though, regardless. In a few years RSR will absolutely explode because of the arbitrage earning opportunities. And adoption is as good as guaraunteed because of the teams funding, network, and connections.

>> No.15416600

>The current RSR smart contract has a locking mechanism built in, where some addresses are locked by default, and others have been locked with the lockMyTokensForever() method, which locks tokens until the team upgrades the contract for mainnet launch. For example, all seed investor tokens are locked with this method in this transaction: https://etherscan.io/tx/0x780d196849a20bd70dd634f557818d05a3ccb78ca331b3e5393899ef3f5a775c Make sure not to call this method on your tokens, or you will join the lockup with the rest of us and have to wait until mainnet launch to begin transferring them again!

how do i join the lockup? it would be cool to feel like a seed investor, and would prevent me from panic selling stupidly

clearly your mind is made up but mark carney disagrees with you (as well as peter thiel sam altman and coinbase ventures) either you really should read more about the overall stablecoin market, even if you actually believe Tether is legitimate and secure

>If you had to hold 100k in a stablecoin
This never happens except for in 3rd world countries as a store of wealth as Forex is either banned or a lack of US banks. Why hold large amounts of capital in RSV when it doesn't appreciate? The only reason is if it wasn't pegged to the USD as a way to hedge against it but it won't be for years when the project will be dead as there's no reason to adopt it over current stablecoins, and if it doesn't die they'll have to dump their RSR tokens onto the market keep up funding

Third world countries and forex is significant. The latter does 5 trillion in overall volume per day. No typo. Anyways, I'm bullish on **crypto currency** i.e. paying a shitskin in some shit hole with an app/qr code and letting them convert it to whatever they want with no friction and sufficient liquidity. Which is where RSV comes into play. It's a digital currency. A digital dollar. And although it's old news, nothing has been truly decentralized, scalable, and secure (trilemma) until the reserve whitepaper.
The point isn't for RSV to appreciate. The reason to hold RSV is because it can't be confiscated and you can travel with your store of value discretely. You hold your private keys which means the border patrol can't fuck you over, etc.

All of this works because of RSR and game theory. People will be financially incentized to stabilize and secure RSV.
