Employers of any size aren't allowed to do what you're describing.Call however high up you can reach...your manage, regional, corporate...and explicitly tell them you will be reporting them to the state attorney general and retaining legal counsel. I am a Director of Operations at a shop that does payroll amongst other things. We would bend over backwards to direct deposit the money to your acct same day with just a call or email, or overnight the check and eat the cost. Never later than an overnight.

If you are telling the truth, I'd suggest filing suit and giving me the name of the operation via kik or email so I can call and make some sweet commission dosh and fix your very fixable issues at a cost lower than your moron owner pays now.
