How does becoming a landlord fair compared to other methods of wealth-seeking? How do you get into the land renting business as a newcomer, and what advice would you give?

You must have zero conscience. You are going to be a parasite on society. To be successful as a landlord you have to only wish for pain in others' lives, and to exploit innocent people for financial gain.

Check out Biggerpockets.com, and read all their books on landlording, real estate investing, how to get loans for almost nothing, etc. That gave me enough info to go on, now I own a duplex, and about to be a realtor.

It's a really great way to generate wealth, the only issue is that us landlords will be the first to get gullotined during the commie uprising

I'm really trying to be ethical and moral in my pursuit of wealth, surely there must be a way to go about this in a charitable way that doesn't turn me into a sociopath?

You just have to understand that when you voluntarily and honestly acquire someone's money, you deserve it. A fool and his money are easily parted, and if you can reinvest it more wisely than them, society benefits in the long run. TAKE THEIR MONEY, ANON

Climb a pyramid a few levels. Look around. Wherever you started looked one way, toward the base. The higher up that you climb the more everything begins to converge.

I second that ^ as long as you're not dishonest, wring as much money out of people as possible. You can do more with their cash than they can. Be the bigger fish

My friend's dad is a landlord and he drives all day long and is dead from exhaustion and stress.

Landlord is a tough job if you only have a few homes; you have to maintain and answer calls yourself. If you own many buildings and can afford to hire people to manage everything for you, then you're going to become a rich lazy fuck.

That sucks. If you set up business hours, and a google voice phoneline for your tenants, you can go a while without needing a property manager. I won't be fixing my tenant's toilet at 2 AM.

Just read this book, anon. It breaks down all the important property management aspects, minus the investing part. They have other books for that.

You have to be okay with fucking them and stealing their rent if they insult you. They must be put in their place.

Bonus points if you evict them for not paying their rent after you stole it.

>Unironically claiming landlords are a blight on society

Its a valuable service, tenants don't have to do any upkeep of the high ticket items, they don't have to take on hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt, and they just pay a little bit more than the cost of the mortgage. Its really not predatory at all, unless you're a filthy communist.

Rent seeking, especially on land, is a blight on society and a valid criticism of capitalism
Think about what behavior is being incentivized and who is benefitting

I prefer to rent my home rather than buy it for various reasons, it would be hypocritical for me to rag on those who rent me my home as being parasites when I desire their services.

People who live transient lives, who don't want to put roots down where they live are benefiting. People who don't want to deal with a mountain of debt are benefiting. People who don't want to deal with maintenance on their homes are benefiting. The list goes on and on.

If the tenant thought they were better off buying than renting, they would buy. Renting is the better option for many people.
