I know I cant time the market. People have been calling a new great depression for the last 10 years, so other people cant time the market either.

This is why there is the gold portion in the portfolio. When a crash happens stocks go down, gold goes up, you rebalance and sell the gold high and buy stocks cheap.

If your risk tolerance is low invest 40% in stocks, 30% in gold and 30% in long government bonds.
