Your BB doesn't account for WTI-price dependence

oil is still over $54 (!) right now. No matter what the TA for XOM shows, it can get banged up by externalities a lot harder than most of the stocks you're used to. just consider that buying a commodity-driven company is a different situation than buying JACK solely based on the charts

IVZ and BX are my babies, BlackRock not so much. Of course I end up holding a bunch of BLK anyway through my mutual fund accounts, so w/e

Xi knows how to deal with an enamored suitor like this. The next actions are obvious.

He will play hard to get for another couple weeks, enticing Trump's manly urges even further, further than he even though was possible.
Beginning of September comes, Trump is losing his mind with lust thinking about a juicy trade deal with his best friend Xi. He remembers what Xi smelled like in Osaka, what they ate together. He looks down, and there is a text message received on his phone from an unknown number. The text just says, "hey". Nothing else. Trump knows what it means, he feels it in his soul. Tariffs.
It's going to be a romantic September lads.

I mean you'd have to assume. I just can't square knowing what his granddad did, what he was capable of, etc with how transparently subnormal IQ his grandkids were. I only met 2 of them, very briefly, didn't really talk about anything more than saying high and a handshake. books or anything like that are a good way to wash money
you print a bunch of them for basically nothing, then pretend to ship them out to bookstores en masse, go on tv and tell everyone how many youve been selling, then just fucking burn all the extras or whatever, and move whatever blood money you want directly into your bank account and report it as "sales".
boom

its funny no one ever questions it
i mean really? who the fuck buys books nowadays?

i know the record industry used to do this all the time in a similar way. talked to a guy who claimed to have worked for atlantic back in the day and he said they would do this kind of shit, and basically sell the records out the back door to smaller stores to avoid having to pay the musicians any money.

The long game will see lots of Profit heading my way. They (ARMN) got some good press today, another annalist jumped on the train. They listed AMRN at $26 per now. After the Nov/Dec FDA meetings I fully expect that target to move up.

Bought more Dis at the low today, was gonna wait but fuck it, it was close enough. They predict nothing but upside with Dis, $160+ is reasonable.

Really, really makes me question whether we're on the first go round of this thing, civilizationally I mean. Atlantean symbolism may be just that, Atlantean kekkies. And yeah it seems like 99% of the time it's just a slow burn, hand-off influence through idologies, philosophical traditions, artistic movements, etc. You can just start stuff like that and let the institutions/Cathedral/magick do the rest. imo, no way
tho its not like were the same people as the old ones. like at all.

lets take us wh*te peeple for ex. we were just monkeying around a couple thousand years ago (depending on where, timeframe widely varies). then we got big and brutish and killed the smart ones that had already mouse utopiaD themselves. then we smash all the history that said we didnt make the cities/tech, lie to ourselves for a millenia, and then the next young knockout kid comes along and knocks OUR fat stupid lazy asses off the throne and rinse repeat.

imo thats why ancient history gets so fucking confusing
its been revised to appease each cultures arrogance, hundreds, maybe thousands of times since "mankind" first started acting like smartasses
also explains lost tech neatly, like how in the fuck they made ANY of those buildings back then.

game theory pretty much only works with discrete decisions
very hard to apply to the stock market: huge numbers of actors can be binned, but each actor can take an ABSURD number of different actions at each junctions

But even that would be doable with fixed decision periods
the decision periods are completely unfixed and continuous

the hardest part of all though is the fact that complexity emerges exponentially and very rapidly because new decisions are based on past ones,

there are mathematical ways to try and cheat but basically you end up with having to use something that isn't game theory at all. the simplifications necessary to come up with a working solution set have to be chosen by the person running the simulation (massive degree of subjectivity)

>>15255703

that's fine and would be fun as an academic thing. you can even use it as a reference to get some random analyst job at a bank.

But if you aren't simulating:
monetary policy (central bank)
financial system (banks)
international market system interactions
politics
sector events

and so on and so forth forever

you won't really get useful results. You can try it an have fun with it, but the whole point of the economy is that it is the biggest and most complex game in town. Everything effects it and it effects everything. If you constantly approximate all the detail and things that you can't simulate away, then the behavior will not match the real world system
It's incredibly chaotic (sensitivity to initial conditions)
any choices you make when constructing the simulation will have complete influence on the outcome
I simulate things, there are things that do not lend themselves well to simulation

also in your hypothetical situation: if the stock prices move randomly, then the strategies wouldn't make sense. if the stock price histories you feed it are real (not dependent on the "payer" actions), then you don't need multiple trading "players" simulated you just need one because you're trading against the market. you're just backtesting
if the stock price only moves due to the "player" actions, you might end up with lockups or you'd have to simulate an absurd number of "players" to achieve liquidity (would still probably lock up depending on construction, meaning the AIs stop trading unless you incentivize them by forcing money in... then you are making a subjective decision to interact with the system in a certain non-organic way)

>simulate things over a long period is really retard

it depends on the simulation.
obviously some physics simulations, you can reliably approximate dynamical system kinematics over arbitrarily long time periods. others we have problems simulating extremely short time periods, because we don't know what happens
the rest of your post I can't even decipher, so I can't reply to it.

>>15256114
OK, I'll try and be more straightforward:
In your hypothetical game, is it:
1. there is a simulated market, with simulated order books and the "players" are the only ones that interact with those order books?
2. the market simulation states are "fixed" and based on external price histories, and players orders don't effect the book?
3. some other choice?

I'll explain the problems with simulating either of those if you want. #1 is the only game-like one, but it also has issues (fun issues) setting up a working market place. Most "rules" and initial conditions that you set up will lead to a very non-market looking situation later in the simulation. that's how these things usually run

i mean as a simulation it doesn't have to have any hard and fast rules, but for a toy concept let's just say it polls real world data at open and at close. traders just papertrade against that polled data by a combination of buying stock and buying/selling options (basically trading rules allowed by robinhood). traders then "reproduce" into later generations based on how successful they are and those traders go on to make their own decisions. over time, we should see the population sort of cluster around a particular strategy that lets them "reproduce" (like writing covered calls, or vix weeklies). The traders don't know how to trade, they just learn how to over a genetic algorithm.

just make it dude
traders already "reproduce" irl because better traders compound more gains than worse traders, so more of the money in the market is being used in smarter and smarter ways
the simulation that you describe is already happening because of market forces (natural selection of held dollars). instead of computer bits keeping track, the best trading strategies are tracked by account values increasing or decreasing faster or slower than the general market

what you need to understand is that EVERYTHING IS CHANGING CONSTANTLY, so you have to stay ahead of the curve, not just watch what happens and try to follow on later after you run a survey

also if you don't have experience backtesting, you can already do sort of what you're talking about in a more straightforward way (and less processing heavy) by just backtesting random but iteratively changing strategies
again, it's not free money unless you find a way to do this better than all the other script kiddies who have had the exact same idea. it's not like no one has ever had the idea "hey can I use a computer to figure out optimal trading strategies"
there are ways to do it, but to describe those strategies and algorithms requires a vocabulary that isn't spoken in these threads (it's mathy nerd shit lol)

i've been screaming about recession and impeding doom, finally the media caught up with iit, and what i've been saying since november of last year was the bond market crash... these are international bonds. and europe kind has fucked istelf since then... i'm going to say something frankly. ameriica is actually fine, and the refuges, from smaller countries racing to our borders, are from south america, central america isn't put on the map, but it's a chain of broken governments, and prettly lax trade policy when it comes to trade..they're used to be invaded through out history, but fuck it i'm going back to find the alcohol i left in my kitchen and if you'd please exuse me to do this i'd appreciate it.

if you buy Italian bonds right now they're probably yielding about zero % or negative so get Argentinian bonds.

or just hold JeromeBucks for now (worth more than any paper printed in those third world shitholes) and buy index funds (US equities) when they feel right

Every third month update: I hold NAK at .78, IDSA at .98. Down $3,700. Current account balance of $22, 275. I had an intramonth high of around 26K, and a 52 week low of around 11K. Just let me get back to 30K so I can cash out and buy a small place in Pennsylvania, ok thanks

but i think argentina and all of sudacaland has way more potential than anything in the EU. i see the EU going the way of japan desu. south america has been beat down over the years, either by us (or other imperialist powers) or the IMF, or their own govts etc... but if they had a solid grasp on their own shit, i could see them taking the fuck off. its a fantastic environment to grow TONS of shit, its loaded w natural resources etc etc

europe just seems like it peaked early imo

I've been dicking since 2006, aside from a few posts on 420chan maybe 10 years ago these are the only Mongolian throat baskets I weave underwater.

I fucked up by buying VRAY the other day at 3.10 and selling for an average of 3.50, I had around 12.5 grand in it and should have just held instead of flipping over to NAK. NAK did me good, I bought in around .59, sold 200 contracts for .10, bought 'em out at .20, sold the shares at around .83 average. Now NAK isn't doing the needful for me. And IDSA, I nearly shit myself when it dropped 20% on Tuesday when someone market sold 800 shares due to absolutely zero-rounded-upwards liquidity. IDSA is probably going to cost me two or three grand before I finally sell. God only knows what NAK will do.

The institutions in Europe don't foster or encourage innovation
There is a reason that there aren't any European FAANG companies, nothing high tech, just companies that make cars and planes.
And you know what, the only way that the EU can interact with companies like Google and Apple is to buy their products and fine them. Not to actually grow innovative companies like that in Europe.

I work for a European company and I meet a bunch of engineers and scientists from Europe who now work in the US.

Europe has a regulation problem and a vision problem. They see a company like google or something and they are horrified to see a company doing new things that they can't micromanage and regulate every bit of it.

It won't change or get better until they have a full shake-up and paradigm shift. The business-government relationship in Europe is not healthy or efficient in the 21st century. Their companies are largely mismanaged. The only successful companies they have are fashion companies and airplanes and boat manufacturers, even their auto industry is struggling now
Europe is fucked and some of them know it

im really drunk... the whole threads like they can rejoice when i die, but fundamentally we are supposed to be annonymous and fuck spellling language was like were i'd get a failing grade but markets are more my specialty.. trades in this thread when we're trading ticker to ticker, they can be lost in the grand scheme of things because i was beartish in bull markets, and bullish in bear markets too, i look at all the markets and we get talk regarding quarterly reports

this was trumps blunder, and being unable to asset his board he created in 2017 to assist in the burden it is to meet quartly demands and as a publicly listed company, granted they had no bankers, all of these companies outside of elon musk were profitable every quarter, elong basically had no future dreams of legislation shows up leaves, it's ok he could have saved face, but his company had government contracts, he broke protocol, not only that but he'd have failed drug testing, and he's from afriica, send rockets from cape horn, honeslt the launche angle is best it's just not studied like guys from houston, and russian scholars dream of the southern cross.

Did I do something wrong? I signed into Robinhood tonight and saw a notice that I had been restricted from buying anything, accompanied by an email not giving any more specifics. None of the possible reasons for restriction appear to apply to my account (no day trades, well above the margin maintenance, no rejected deposits). Oh well. I'm sure the Robinhood support team will live up to their reputation.

believe it or not, i try to get on here a lot when i have the time. this is one of the only places on the internet where you can have srs discussion AND funposting (or it was till jannies fuckt it up).
but usually either muh boxy is rangeb&, or recaptcha is being satanic, so i normally give up

as for 8gag, i only really went to some of the minor boards like strek, just, and vg and shit like that.
i moved on to greener pastures tho. 8gags main boards are way too autistic nowadays thanks to the influx of r9k faggots and reddit edgelords. too butthurt about literally everything to be any fun.
