But even that would be doable with fixed decision periods
the decision periods are completely unfixed and continuous

the hardest part of all though is the fact that complexity emerges exponentially and very rapidly because new decisions are based on past ones,

there are mathematical ways to try and cheat but basically you end up with having to use something that isn't game theory at all. the simplifications necessary to come up with a working solution set have to be chosen by the person running the simulation (massive degree of subjectivity)

I'll explain the problems with simulating either of those if you want. #1 is the only game-like one, but it also has issues (fun issues) setting up a working market place. Most "rules" and initial conditions that you set up will lead to a very non-market looking situation later in the simulation. that's how these things usually run

i mean as a simulation it doesn't have to have any hard and fast rules, but for a toy concept let's just say it polls real world data at open and at close. traders just papertrade against that polled data by a combination of buying stock and buying/selling options (basically trading rules allowed by robinhood). traders then "reproduce" into later generations based on how successful they are and those traders go on to make their own decisions. over time, we should see the population sort of cluster around a particular strategy that lets them "reproduce" (like writing covered calls, or vix weeklies). The traders don't know how to trade, they just learn how to over a genetic algorithm.

traders already "reproduce" irl because better traders compound more gains than worse traders, so more of the money in the market is being used in smarter and smarter ways
the simulation that you describe is already happening because of market forces (natural selection of held dollars). instead of computer bits keeping track, the best trading strategies are tracked by account values increasing or decreasing faster or slower than the general market

what you need to understand is that EVERYTHING IS CHANGING CONSTANTLY, so you have to stay ahead of the curve, not just watch what happens and try to follow on later after you run a survey

also if you don't have experience backtesting, you can already do sort of what you're talking about in a more straightforward way (and less processing heavy) by just backtesting random but iteratively changing strategies
again, it's not free money unless you find a way to do this better than all the other script kiddies who have had the exact same idea. it's not like no one has ever had the idea "hey can I use a computer to figure out optimal trading strategies"
there are ways to do it, but to describe those strategies and algorithms requires a vocabulary that isn't spoken in these threads (it's mathy nerd shit lol)

Europe has a regulation problem and a vision problem. They see a company like google or something and they are horrified to see a company doing new things that they can't micromanage and regulate every bit of it.

It won't change or get better until they have a full shake-up and paradigm shift. The business-government relationship in Europe is not healthy or efficient in the 21st century. Their companies are largely mismanaged. The only successful companies they have are fashion companies and airplanes and boat manufacturers, even their auto industry is struggling now
