Argentinians just elected a communist party into power, and basicslly sealed the fate of their county for the next 20 years.

Democracy is severely overrated.

Yeah the world knows that which is why the argie peso is down 30% vs the dollar.

Imagine sitting there and casting a ballot which you were told will reduce your buying power by 30%, decimate your savings, and burden your children with the cost of recovering a failed economy. Argies don't have to imagine. Then went and voted in communists in a landslide becausr they were promised gibsmedat which nobody can fund.

rsv will see mass adoption sooner than anyone thinks. the demand for a stablecoin that can be used in day-to-day transactions while holding its value is extremely high in these areas.

Any government that sees a 33% drop in their valuta on day one, are doomed to fail. They could have elected a "Ron Paul fanclub" as their rulling party, or a bunch of economic technocrats of the Austrian school, if their valuta drops by 1/3 on day one, then they too would be a failure..

this is the fundamental argument against an open democracy. 1 vote per person ensures that the dumbfucks (sub 105 IQ) are over-represented. i don't know the solution, but this is the problem

once the app launches (this q3) they should have at least the main city in venezuela (caracas) accepting RSV payments through the app and giving out money to retailers and customers via referral program to start using the app. they're about to have a meet up in buenos aires argentina to talk about the app and some of us have speculated that a big announcement could be coming soon. rsr is just one part of their protocol so it wont be fully implemented until 2020. this means that rsr isn't going to be used for arbitrage or burned just yet but depending on how widely adopted rsv is you can see the potential for rsr once it starts being burned and used for arbitrage.

i was in the middle of ranting about how democracy is a failure because it allows politicians to outright buy their votes from brainlets that want free gibs but then someone asked about rsv and it got me thinking. let's say that hypothetically rsv blows up in these third world shitholes and the government brainlets have no way to censor it or stop it from being widely accepted as a payment method/store of value... how would they (commies) be able to buy votes in the future? if it's impossible for them to outright print money for gibs and even if they did the money would be next to worthless would this be the end of communism as we know it or do you think they would find ways around this?

i don't know enough about global politics and economics to answer all of your questions, but i know enough to tell you that the government will absolutely try to regulate, control, criminalize, crypto. people having control over their own money is horrifying to modern governmental and financial systems

there is no point of investing money if there is high risk (communism take over of private companies) or high taxes in the country you are investing you lose to much to taxes. thus causing collapse of the economy without international money going gets tough
