once staking goes live the majority if not THE WHOLE supply will be locked in by smart contracts and staking.
a node won't be requested if it cannot pay the penalties in case it is faulty, so any serious node operator (and chainlink is getting corporate grade nodes) will stake massive amounts of links, either to demonstrate that they are a serious/trustworthy node or that they are greedy and want the maximum amount of requests. if you think about it, the corporate grade nodes won't stake 10k links, they will probably stake millions of links.
just remember how facebook asked for 10M$ collateral to run one of their node, yeah that's 5 million links staked.

any sane link holder would fucking hold his links as if his life depended on it, and not sell to atleast staking + 1 - 2 years, staking is the key to the singularity, why 1-2 years you ask? well so that the network grows and there will be ALOT of nodes running and alot of links staked.

once staking is live, miners from the whole crypto space will flock to chainlink to grab a % of those gains. The earlier you run your node, the better the rep, the more jobs you get. even right now there are hundreds of neet nodes running on testnet all hoping to be selected to go on mainnet.

right now you have to get your node checked in order to be listed on the chainlink website.

I bought chainlink very early in 2017, I truly believe chainlink will be the next biggest thing after the blockchain, the 30 may i celebrated our entry into the new world, the world of trustless markets and automation, i truly believe in the tech, and I think it will change our lives forever, the western countries just entered a new era, i feel like the future we see in all those novels has finally come into reality, chainlink is allowing for the blockchain adoption and much much more.

Staking won’t be live until the reputation system at least. You just have that much time to start running a node (not much time). And if you aren’t going for the top, you can still put your links in a pool. Know that people running nodes will be infinitely richer than hodlers. Also you’ll be an insider.
