I'm new to crypto but seeing the low cost and popularity of Ethereum I want to dip my toes into it. Does anybody here more knowledgeable on the matter have any prediction for it?

>> No.15155064

Okay pal, I'll explain everything to you. Screen cap this.

People are always saying ETH wont pump because there are no more ICOs on its platform. However, first of all, this is a lie. There are new ERC20 gems and with time this only tends to increase. In fact, most whales are pumping/dumping their favorite tokens on DEX in order to increase their stack of ETH. Proof of this can be seen on rising volume on most good pairs, such as NKN, MRPH, Quant, LIT and others. Most projects have simmilar charts (compare Quant to MRPH and LIT). This is a way for whales to pump their favorite projects and to keep accumulating ether, without having to hold it. Another proof can be seen on Etherscan, go there and search the charts of each token. You will see tokens revolving around ICO price (in ether), increasing volume, until it pumps.

The result of all this is that ethereum has more and more transactions. In fact, transaction count have never been so high. This means that once ETH starts to pump, most of these projects will fall on ETH (keeping dollar value), since people will sell all of them at the same time (it's simmilar to people leaving alts when BTC pumps a lot). Then these tokens will be cheap on ether, and whales will buy back. Then moon.

There you go, you've been warned.
10k ETH EOY.

If you are new to crypto, biz is the fucking worst place to start learning about anything. If you let people in /biz/ be an influential starting point for you, you're destined to get rekt. Run for your life from the shills here.

Download metamask and start using eth. It's actually usable unlike the boomer gold BTC has become.

The best way to learn is to use it. Want to know why BTC is such a shit coin? Download a wallet and send a coin back and forth to yourself.
Want to know why people are excited about NANO? Same thing.
Eth? Check out the dapps and use the wallets.
Only a dumb fucking boomer would tell you to just buy bitcoin and sit on it.

People who would effort post in a thread like this, and type that are desperate to see their bags pumped. Being desperate isn't actually a sign of success, so you are just hearing from someone who has done a shitty job themselves yet doubles down on their narratives instead of learning and reevaluating.

Books. Economics and game theory is what made bitcoin successful, the altcoins that came after are mostly a bunch of scammers and sóyboys who didn't really understand bitcoin in the first place yet wanted to make their own money. Read books about king crypto first, rather than biz or reddit or twitter posts from shills who have a long track record of being wrong that you are unaware of.

Figure out why the libertarian geeks who first got into bitcoin were right and have been right for the past ten years despite countless people who kept telling them it would fail. Read pic related, and Rothbard's "What Has Government Done To Our Money" as a foundation for understanding money. The majority of "The Bitcoin Standard" is about the nature of money which is why I recommend it.

Pic related can be downloaded here for free: https://libgen.is/book/index.php?md5=7D394651158ABC9470CBCCE538FAAA49
It's also on audible.

Rothbard's book can be found for free on mises.org in text or audiobook format.

I dont think so, ETH has the first mover advantage. Most projects are built on it. I believe there will be plenty of space for all projects in the future. But I wont discard this possibility either.

Crypto has evolved into its own subculture, these are literal internet meme coins we're talking about here. Thus there is slang like "whale" (someone who controls a large amount of Bitcoin or other digital asset who can significantly move the price). First step is to lurk here for a good 3-4 months so you understand what people are even saying.

Not happening. Unlimited supply works because proof of stake will be powerful. More ETH to stake. Wait for the platform to mature. Its 4 years old and everyone is impatient. In 50 years we will be in a new society that uses cryptocurrencies.

Biz is only really entertaining to people who have already been in crypto for years, for everyone else it's too confusing to encounter such a mix of different shill narratives. Some use it as a means for identiying low-cap crypto that might irrationally pump and dump, and they swing trade alts that are on no one else's radar so as to increase their bitcoin stack or fiat. It's incredibly risky, and most fail, and yet on biz no one advertises all their failures when they are trying to shill something. So not newbie friendly.

>> No.15155431

ETH itself was never intended to be a currency, and once it turns to proof of stake, mining ETH will cease to be profitable. If you want a currency with all the benefits of Ethereum, buy 0xBTC.

If you are new go to bitcoin's website, read the whitepaper and everything else on there. Understand the fundamentals first and why we retards are here talking about this instead of other options and then move to ETH etc. You also need to know the fundamentals of the economy to understand why it is that important, if you don't seriously it's bad for you
