both, aslong as we have fiat, based on debt, and we aren't at the beginning of a cycle.
you can't know how things turn out, bitcoin is great if your government tries to regulate fiat exits. gold is great if the new currency will be gold backed (or if dollar looses anchor currency status and gold will be the exchange internationally among central banks) and you can turn it in for shittons of nice new money.
