Would penny stocks be my best bet at redemption?

A bit of context:
>early marriage during college because qt had my condom
>dev job at startup out of uni
>happily worked my ass off in building the core
>got into heated argument with manager during a bar event which led to my termination
>decided to spend time honing my portfolio
>child arrived, but then wife filed for divorce. Lost the case and $ because she accused me of other shit out of the blue.
>friends and family at home ghosted me upon hearing the news.
>find out from hr insider that ex is with a coworker I worked together with.

I don't want any pity from you faggots. I just want guidance. I've already gone through the despair train, and managed to talk my older sister into giving me the money I had at home.

I am basically not hireable because all of the other corps know each other and I was stupid enough not to have covered up my identity. I have no money to leave either and sold/pawned most of my shit. I did the burger flipping, but my debts are slowly choking me.

New investors always think they can make money on penny stocks. They usually lose all of their money because they treat it just as gambling. Then they get wiser and buy highly reputable companies like Apple. They make money here when the market goes up, but the returns aren't that good.
