Nokia 3310 reboot.
Do it.
Get the 3g version so you can use it in USA.
Throw your smartphone in the garbage and use this. If you're a flip phone guy, get a flip phone.
Watch as your life actually gets better.
You don't think it will work, but it does. And it happens quickly.

agreed, i've learned a lot of valuable skills that have transferred over to the real world playing vidya. depends what u play

You can learn a lot from 4chin and video games. Video games offer the ability to play and replay simulations and changing scenarios that test your ability to adapt and react. Players that are able to understand their simulated environments at a higher understanding usually get more results- points, wins, etc.

I've learned a lot about language and other languages through playing video games, especially if it is multiplayer. You learn how to communicate with people from all over the world, even if they don't speak your language. We all want to interact, or work towards a common goal, let our teammates/enemies know about our emotional state or just tell tales about which sexual acts we did with their mothers. My cousin didn't like reading and had trouble in school. He liked video games so much he learned how to read just so he could understand what was being said in games with dialogue and understand instructions and objectives so that he could actually play the game.

Point is, there is a lot of information you can learn in a short period of time playing video games. You could learn a lot from auction houses, you could learn a lot from social interaction, you could work on math trying to calculate how much damage your character does against a certain armor type while taking into consideration resistance or w/e, you could learn about concepts like metalurgy, smithing, chemistry, etc etc etc.

4chin you can also learn a lot from. Understanding what this place is, and what video games are is the key I suppose. If you think it is wasted time, you are doing it wrong. There's so many stories being told, from different people all over the world. Some of them are funny, others are sad. Some of them are informative, others will rot your brain. Some can bring you fortune, others will try to manipulate you for everything you have. This is a place of evolving ideas where it is survival of the fittest at the most basic level. If you're capable of navigating through the shit stream, every once in a while you find a diamond in the shit that makes it all worth it. Learn from the failures of others, and try to understand the successes of those rare moments when a diamond shines through the shit. Don't take anything seriously, but also understand the power of collective NEET autism and what it can accomplish, for better or worse.

>there is a lot of information you can learn in a short period of time playing video games
some important truths in your posts, but there's a common trap in thinking the time is used efficiently and you might have fallen prey to it
i was a neet playing video games from 15 to 29 and learned a ton, but objectively i could have absorbed all that knowledge in ~5 years rather than 14
there's a balance between arrested development (wagie) and internet addiction. really, the problem is that in either case we're creatures of habits, so the more often you start your day by opening 4chan or steam, the more likely you are to do that the next day. gleaning little bits of esoteric knowledge here and there stops having a point if you don't do anything with it, it's like the wantrepreneurs who read endless books and pay for courses but never launch their business
every now and then it's a good idea to take a week+ break from whatever you're doing daily, reset the clock and see if it leads you somewhere better

Sometimes I think what browsing 4chan all day would look like if there was no computer in front of me. I would be sitting there at a desk, all day, staring at the wall. And it makes me wonder just what I would be doing if I never owned a computer, because it certainly wouldn't be sitting and staring at the wall. I probably wouldn't even be at home. I would be a completely different person.
